Earlier this week, 20 young women advocates completed a 3-day training under the HIV Prevention in Action Academy with Generational Empowerment Movement - GEM Organisation.

They have been equipped with knowledge on different HIV prevention options, SRHR, GBV and how to share that information within their communities.

The focus wasn’t just on learning, but on how to engage, how to raise awareness, have real conversations, and support others in making informed decisions about their health and their lives.

With the strong link between HIV and gender-based violence, these conversations matter now more than ever.

Our advocates are now ready to return to their communities to encourage access to services and lead change from the ground 🔥

Day 2 🔥

The conversations were deeper, open, and real 💜

Our advocates were introduced to the ZAZI Training Toolkit, talking about everything from our bodies, what it means to be a woman, to preventing HIV, unintended pregnancies, and gender-based violence.

It wasn’t just learning, it was reflection, sharing, and really understanding ourselves too✨



Advocacy for Prevention of HIV and AIDS - APHA

We officially kicked off the HIV Prevention in Action Academy with our young women advocates, in partnership with Advocacy for Prevention of HIV and AIDS - APHA.

Today was all about understanding HIV prevention and the HIV landscape in Malawi 🇲🇼, setting the foundation for the journey ahead.

Over the next few days, we’re diving into advocacy, community engagement, and building the skills to create change.

And we're just getting started🔥

Our Young Woman Advocate, Wishes, met with learners from Maziko Secondary School in Machinjiri, Blantyre, to talk about the importance of HIV prevention and choices!

She spent time teaching them about the prevention options currently available, and introducing them to new and emerging methods so they stay aware and informed.

Even if some of these options aren’t yet available in Malawi, when they do arrive, our young people will already know what they are and how they work.

Empowered youths make empowered health decisions. 💪
