Sustainability meets community 💚♻️
We’re excited to share that Mwayi, of Pink Press, came across a powerful idea from a recycling company in Ghana—and is taking inspiration!

To promote eco-conscious production and reduce the cost of our school bags, we’re now encouraging the community to collect and donate used sugar, rice, and milk packets (any similar durable plastic) instead of buying new waterproof material. This not only cuts costs (down to MK30,000 / €15 per bag) but also helps us keep waste out of the environment 🌍.

And in more good news—a member of SCORP has reached out to collaborate on the project. The more the merrier! Every voice and every hand counts. 🫶

Let’s build these bags together—for the children, for the planet, and for the future.

Sponsor a Smile. Change a Life.

We’ve officially launched our fundraising campaign for The School Bag Project, and here’s how you can help—no matter where you are!

Each drawstring bag (locally made & waterproof-lined) will be filled with essential school supplies and gifted to a child in need.
Cost per full set: ÂŁ20
Every contribution—big or small—brings us closer to our goal of reaching 500 children across Malawi.

Support from anywhere in the world via our GoFundMe:

We’re so excited to introduce to you all our latest initiative—a project focused on providing durable, drawstring bags, each filled with essential stationery, to children in public primary schools.

Made locally by Pink Press, these bags are not only practical (with waterproof lining!) but also made with love and care. Each child will also receive a matching pencil case and a set of basic school supplies.

We’re hoping to start with 50 children in our target first school and with your support, we hope to reach 500 and beyond!

You can help by either sponsoring towards a bag / donating some supplies / volunteering to assemble or distribute when the time comes / or simply spreading the word.

Let’s give every child a reason to smile this coming school year.
A little goes a long way 🤗

We want to take a moment to acknowledge our stretched out quietness and share some exciting updates as we prepare to relaunch our efforts.

Over the past two years, while The Xantara Foundation hasn’t been as visible, our mission has remained at the core of everything we do. During this time, many of us have been away, and other dedicated volunteers were focused on advancing their personal and professional journeys. However, behind the scenes, we’ve been steadily rebuilding—forming new collaborations, expanding our network, and trying to strengthen the foundations concept with a renewed sense of purpose.

To everyone who reached out during this period to check in on our progress, and to those who have continued supporting our academic sponsorships program for children, we extend our heartfelt gratitude. Your encouragement and belief in our mission has kept us moving forward.

Upcoming Project: Bags of Hope

We are now thrilled to announce our next initiative: Bags of Hope—a project focused on providing durable, waterproof drawstring bags filled with essential stationery supplies to children in public schools. These bags will be made using locally sourced materials and crafted by local artisans, helping not only the students but also supporting small businesses and craftsmen in our communities.

Our first goal is to reach 500 children, hopefully starting with a pilot distribution of 50 bags to one of the selected schools. With your continued support, we hope to scale up and reach even greater numbers. More information on this project to be provided soon enough.

We’re back—with passion, purpose, and a growing team. Thank you for standing with us as we step into this exciting new chapter.

With gratitude,
Team TXF
