HOPE FOR THE COMMUNITY AND RESEARCH

HOCORE is a registered non governmental organization committed to empowering vulnerable and needy people to overcome socio-economic barriers through providing sustainable means, operating in Phalula, Balaka District. MAJOR PURPOSE OR MISSION OF THE ORGANIZATION

HOCORE works to enable needy and vulnerable people to realize positive and

sustainable change through empowerment and responsible action. Aims and Objectives
The main objectives of HOCORE is to facilitate sustainable development through;
1. Coordinating with other stakeholders to influence policy and decisions in favour of the disadvantaged people in the country;
2. Creating new opportunities for young Malawians and provide a platform for skills development among the poor;
3. Promoting and increasing access to quality health care services for disadvantaged persons in Malawi;
4. Safeguarding a healthy environment for children’s growth, development and wellbeing;
5. Networking with other stakeholders in development such as relevant government line ministries, local and international development partners and civil society;
6. Identifying priority challenges in development and finding common strategies to respond to them at all levels. These challenges include HIV/AIDS; malnutrition; poverty; natural and human disasters; environmental degradation; gender, youth empowerment and other causes of underdevelopment;
7. Designing and implementing projects that are culturally, socially and environmentally friendly;
8. Making regular evaluation of projects, programs and activities and taking appropriate action to redress weaknesses;
9. Raising and acquiring funds from any legitimate source and disbursing the same in the furtherance of the main objective of HOCORE; and
10. Developing additional programmes towards achieving its vision and mission as and when they are required. CONTACTS:

· Youth civic engagement activities

· We aim at capacity building in various areas among the youths and community, we have 3 workshops in a month to involve the youths in development at different levels, the topic of the workshop are all geared towards encouraging active participation of youth in the development process.

· In response to covid 19 pandemic, distribution of sanitary equipment and reusable face masks.

· Training of stakeholder committees to enhance active participation in developmental activities and coordination among stakeholder from different sectors. MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS TO DATE. An operational Area Development Committee under Phalula STA. Continuous distribution of reusable facemasks. So far we have reached more than 600 beneficiary’s. COLLABORATIONS:
