Now under President Muizzu the rate already hit MVR 23, yet he is still allowed to stay till 2028.

Another drug trafficker has been freed
Maryam Zeena, a resident of Ahiya, Ha. Thuraakunu, was arrested on 19 February 2025 from a Phase I apartment in Hulhumalé with 14 kilograms of drugs. She has now been cleared of all drug charges, after a deal negotiated with Prosecutor General Abbas Shareef by PNC MP Ali Moosa.

Staff Sergeant Mohamed Mahdhee gave his life while searching for Italian drivers. He went out as a son of this nation, putting his duty above everything, and never came back. Today his family is still waiting. Still searching for answers. Still searching for justice. But from this incompetent and irresponsible Administration, they have received only silence and empty words.
