This World Hypertension Day, Tiny Hearts of Maldives is proud to launch The Blood Pressure Project in Lh. Hinnavaru, in collaboration with Hinnavaru Health Center Lh. Hinnavaru Health Centre and Hinnavaru Council Secretariat of Hinnavaru Council
The Blood Pressure Project is centred on a simple but powerful idea: helping people check their blood pressure at home with confidence.
Through this programme, BP machines will be available through the Health Centre for people to borrow, use at home, record their readings, and return with their BP logs. The Health Centre will then provide advice, follow-up, and treatment support where necessary.
This collaboration reflects the spirit of controlling hypertension together with island communities, local leadership, health centres, hospitals, and community health service providers working side by side.
The role of councils is vital. By investing in BP machines and donating them to health centres and hospitals, councils can help bring preventive heart health services closer to families and communities.
Tiny Hearts of Maldives has developed an information kit, including BP logs and home BP checking guidance, and will provide training and support to health centres and communities to implement the programme and raise awareness.
We are grateful to Hinnavaru Health Centre and Hinnavaru Council for joining us in launching this community-based model for heart health.
Check your BP. Know your numbers. Protect your heart.
