In 2023, The Reading Right initiative reached young learners in F. Magoodhoo through engaging storytelling sessions that encouraged curiosity and a love for reading. Supported by Atmosphere Foundation, the program created an interactive learning environment where children could listen, participate, and build confidence through stories.

By involving teachers and parents alongside students, the sessions helped strengthen early literacy both in the classroom and at home. It highlights the value of shared learning in building strong reading habits from a young age.

The Zero to Divemaster initiative by Atmosphere Foundation, delivered in partnership with Centre, continues to guide young participants through an immersive journey in diving and marine awareness. From learning the basics of diving to completing advanced certifications, the programme combines practical training, classroom learning, and conservation education in a structured and supportive environment.

Along the way, participants have explored different diving environments, taken part in coral conservation sessions, and developed a deeper understanding of the ocean through hands-on experience. More than just training, the initiative creates space for discipline, teamwork, and personal growth while encouraging a lasting connection to the marine world.

Since December 2022, Atmosphere Foundation, in partnership with Aged Care Maldives, has been bringing health and caregiver support to island communities across the Maldives. Beginning in HA. Uligamu, the program saw strong community engagement, reaching over 200 residents through workshops, home visits, and specialised medical consultations.

The outreach also included caregiver training and a range of consultations, supporting families with practical guidance and access to care. It reflects the importance of bringing services closer to communities and strengthening support for healthy ageing at the island level.

The soft toy-making sessions provided participants with a hands-on space to build practical skills while exploring creativity. Through guided steps such as pattern cutting, stitching, and assembly, participants developed focus, coordination, and confidence as each piece came together.

The Zero to Hero diving programme is underway, giving young Maldivians the opportunity to take part in structured training and hands-on learning.

Delivered in collaboration with Dive Centre and supported by Atmosphere Foundation, the initiative includes professional training, certification, and the support needed throughout the journey.

Dementia awareness sessions in Kulhudhuffushi focused on building understanding around cognitive health and the importance of early recognition. Through guided discussions and community engagement, participants were introduced to key concepts, including the different types of dementia and how it affects daily life.

Delivered in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Society of Maldives and Demensia Brunei, and supported by Atmosphere Foundation, the initiative highlights the value of awareness, education, and community support in promoting healthier ageing.

The first batch of the Zero to Hero diving scholarship has officially begun, with 10 young participants starting their journey from beginner level in diving. Delivered in collaboration with Dive Centre and supported by Atmosphere Foundation, the program offers a structured introduction to the underwater world through guided training and hands-on learning.

The program encourages confidence, awareness, and an appreciation for the ocean. It serves as a starting point for participants to explore, learn, and build a lasting respect for marine environments.

We are offering a fully funded diving programme for Maldivians.
