Al Usthaaz Maumoon Abdul Qayoom on the 09th of July 2003. Al Msjidhul Zikraa was founded on the 03rd of March 2000 and on completion of the construction, was declared open by the President of the Republic of Maldives, His Excellency Al Usthaaz Maumoon Abdul Qayoom on the 09th of July 2003 (09 Jumaadhal oola 1424) Wednesday. iskkiy was a small mosque built by Athirage Ahmed Didi (the son of Athiragey Muhammadh Thakhaan) sometime back. As Moolekede Miskkiy became too old and there was need for renovation but, as there was not enough land space for expansion, a group of well-wishers from S.Hithadhoo namely Moosa fahumy of Moonimaage S. Hithdhoo, Hussain Ali of Lainoofarumaage S. Hithadhoo, Mohamed Naseem of Sharaf S. Hithadhoo, Ahmed Naseem of Jeymuge S.Hithadhoo and Ali Saudy of Ash S. Hithadhoo took the initiative and decided to construct this beautiful mosque where it is now. The government gave Ali Saudy of Ash S. Hithadhoo Permission to build this mosque. On completion of Al Masjidhul Zikraa the small mosque was demolished by the Island office. The demolished small mosque, Moolekede Miskiy was in the compound of the neighboring house named “Pacific” near Al Masjidhul Zikra. Al Masjidhul Zikraa was generously funded by many pioneering entrepreneurs, well-wishers and many religious loving people. The mosque is still looked after maintained by the initiators with the generous assistance from the government, well-wishers and religious loving people. Other than Daily Regular Prayers and Friday Jum’aa Prayers the mosque keeps on serving the community in many ways. Al Masjidhul Zikraa Quran Memorization Class.

3. Al Masjidhul Zikraa Quran Class for the Juniors. These classes are conducted on week days in the morning and afternoon. This three year program started immediately after the month of 2012 Ramazaan. Three permanent Quran teachers are being appointed and aiming to a total of 60 students the classes are successfully conducted daily. Monthly meetings are held to parents and students and well-wisher to discuss about the progress of the classes. Religious Lecture Sessions
Regular Religious lectures Sessions are conducted on every Monday after Salaathul Ishaa. On important issues and touching topics, Religious lectures Sessions are conducted on Fridays after Salaathul Asru. Ramzaan Revitalization Program. Tharaaweehu and Thahajjudhu Prayers are conducted to revive the month of Ramzaan since the inauguration of the mosque on a regular basis every year memorizing the Holy Quran. Religious Lecture sessions are conducted every day after Asru Prayers during the month of Ramazaan. Every year the whole month of Ramazaan the mosque generously gratifies Ifthar for Breaking fast to those who gather for Maghrib Prayers every day and at the same level generous arrangement is made available to those who gather for Tharaaweehu Prayers. The initiators are Proud to note that Al Masjidhul Zikraa is maintained at its present level and all the activities mentioned are conducted with the generous assistance from the Government, well-wishers and religious loving people.
