South Sterilisation and Welfare Campaign

This is an urgent situation, we need the pharmacy board to approve new routes of import with the utmost urgency

CRY MY BELOVED COUNTRY!
NO ANESTHESIA available islandwide to sterilise dogs and cats, to operate on accident dogs and cats or those infested with maggots or other horrific wounds!!

PAWS has a dwindling stock for emergencies and for 1 sterilisation day in Pailles (already booked since a long time).

This is an URGENT appeal to the authorities, the pharmacy board, the DVS and the Ministry of Agro to help resolve this situation.

No anesthesia means no sterilisation, means the number of unwanted puppies and kittens will keep on increasing.

The wholesalers have already approached the authorities with solutions but there is a total lack of urgent response. Please for the sake of our animals, REACT to ensure that NGOs, government and private vets can carry on much-needed sterilisations!

This morning our pellets arrived from the wonderful PAWS Care UK ❤️ we were completely out of food, so we are even more grateful than usual, if that is at all possible! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, we couldn’t do this without you ❤️🐶❤️

Yesterday we held a hugely successful sterilisation day, once again in the garage of a kind resident of Citie le Chaux. Our wonderful Vet on the Run was on a mission! She sterilised a total of 19 animals, a mixture of dogs and cats, making a big difference to this community. Thank you to everyone involved for this wonderful achievement and a massive thank you for the financial and food donations that enable us to make this possible 🙏❤️🐶😻

Last week had a few ups and downs! We sterilised 3 of the pointe D’Esny stray doggies and found also one of them a new home!
We used our new catch cage for the first time, and success! We caught a stray male for sterilisation, not the dog we were aiming for, but a good outcome anyway!
Our beloved le Bouchon dogs were all there for food, after 4 of them had been awol for a couple of weeks, we were delighted to see them 😍
A poor injured dog turned up in our road, crying in the early hours, we took him in and gave him medication as best we could. The next morning we took him to PAWS Mauritius Union Vale, where the wonderful vet, Marta, treated him. He will stay there under there ongoing care, until he is recovered. 🙏
Our little foster puppy went to his new family and he also has a new puppy brother 🐶🐶
Bonnie, the little dog that was under treatment at PAWs is now fully recovered and is staying with me, until she goes to her new forever home tomorrow ❤️

This is the story of Molly and Mable ❤️ ❤️
Two little female puppies abandoned on their own at le Bouchon beach. We had a sterilisation day, back in March, so we were able pick them up and get them sterilised by our wonderful vet. At the end of the day, after exploring all avenues, we had to take them back to the beach. It really broke me 💔
That night we received an amazing donation, which meant that we were now in a position to make a difference to these two pups. I went the next morning to pick them up, thankfully they were still there 🙏 We were able to put them into paid foster care, where they have been lovingly looked after ever since ❤️
This week they have both been delivered to their forever loving homes, by our wonderful Aurelie.
They are an amazing happy story, that took a team to look after them, thank you to everyone involved and a special thank you to Joan and Sue, that made this possible ❤️ Happy little safe doggies this evening ❤️🐶❤️🐶

Another busy week for us! Feeding our beloved strays, we took a stray female to be sterilised at PAWS Mauritius Union Vale. They also treated one of our strays for a little injury, he’s now happily back in his area. Yesterday we came across 4 tiny puppies that had been abandoned on the side of the road, we are so very grateful for PAWS Union Vale for taking them in ❤️🙏🐶🐶🐶🐶

Friday and Saturday were very busy days for a couple of members from our wonderful team. They picked up two stray females and took them for sterilisation at PAWS Mauritius Union Vale 🙏
While feeding our doggies at Le Bouchon they rescued 4 beautiful puppies, that had been cruelly dumped there. After vaccinating and bathing them all, they were all delivered to new loving homes. We are so grateful to have such amazing team members. These puppies will now go on to lead very happy, safe lives, just wonderful ❤️🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶❤️

Yesterday we held a very successful sterilisation day in loving memory of Joan Payne and Sue Lyons ❤️
We held the day in a garage in Citie Le Chaux, and area with very many stray dogs and cats. A local resident kindly offered his garage. We sterilised 10 dogs and 5 cats.
We also welcomed back 4 puppies for their vaccinations, 2 of which are in our foster care and 2 have been happily adopted. We also rescued a very small puppy, that as soon as he is a little bigger, will be going to his new family home ❤️
It was a very emotional, but successful day. We will return to the same place next month to continue the work that needs doing in the area 🙏
