Today, the SK Victoria Wanderers family mourns the loss of former coach Mr Vincent Grech, who led our Club to First Division League glory in the historic 1978/79 season.

A respected figure, a leader on and off the pitch, and a man whose contribution to our Club forms part of the rich history and identity of SK Victoria Wanderers. His name will forever remain etched in the proud story of our Club.

On behalf of the Committee, players, supporters, and the entire SK Victoria Wanderers family, we extend our deepest condolences to his sons Mr Tony Grech, former coach of our Club and current Secretary of the Gozo Football Association, Marvin Grech, who also proudly wore the colours of our Club, Mro Joseph Grech, our friend, and all the family.

May they find strength and comfort in the immense respect and affection that Mr Vincent Grech earned throughout the football community and beyond.

Rest in peace, Coach.

Having joined S.K. Victoria Wanderers at a very young age, you have progressed through all levels of the Club’s youth system, securing the U19 League title on two occasions. Your senior debut at just 15 was a clear testament to your ability and character, and you have since established yourself as a consistent and valuable member of the team, contributing to the Club’s achievements in the 2nd Division League, 2nd Division Challenge Cup, and 1st Division Knock-Out Cup.

On behalf of everyone at the Club, we thank you for your dedication and commitment throughout the years, and we wish you continued success both on and off the pitch.

🏆 MFA BOV Challenge Cup – Semi-Final
📍 Gozo Stadium

We bow out after extra time in a hard-fought encounter against Birżebbuġa St Peter’s FC.

We took the lead on 57 minutes through Ender Vielma, before the visitors equalised in the 71st minute. The game was decided deep into extra time, with Birżebbuġa finding the winner in the 120th minute.

A spirited performance from the team, who pushed until the very end.

This was our last game of the season and we would like to thank everyone who supported our team throughout the season. See you all next season! 🦅🔵
