We had a delightful gardening session with the Qawsalla group. Together, we repotted a variety of herbs and planted sunflower seeds and cherry tomato plants. We also discussed the herbs we were working with, exploring not only their traditional culinary uses but also their medicinal benefits, when prepared as herbal teas. It was an enjoyable and engaging session for everyone!

Kellna sessjoni sabiħa naħdmu mal-pjanti tal-grupp Qawsalla. Flimkien, poġġejna diversi ħxejjex aromatiċi fi qsari ġodda u żrajna żerriegħa tas-sunflower u tat-tadam. Tkellimna wkoll dwar il-ħxejjex aromatiċi u esplorajna mhux biss l-użu tradizzjonali tagħhom fit-tisjir, iżda wkoll il-benefiċċji mediċinali tagħhom, speċjalment meta jintużaw biex isiru tejiet tal-ħxejjex. Kienet sessjoni pjaċevoli, edukattiva!

Last week, we had a very interesting session with the Chinese Traditional Medicine Centre in Kordin. Many thanks to their team for visiting us and introducing the basics of traditional Chinese medicine, including techniques such as acupuncture, cupping, and gua sha. We also enjoyed a short Tai Chi session afterwards. It was both informative and enjoyable.

Il-ġimgħa li għaddiet kellna sessjoni interessanti ħafna maċ-Ċentru tal-Mediċina Tradizzjonali Ċiniża ta' Kordin. Nirringrazzjaw ħafna lit-tim tagħhom talli ġie jżurna u spjegalna l-bażi tal-mediċina tradizzjonali Ċiniża, inklużi tekniki bħall-akupuntura, il-cupping u l-gua sha. Wara gawdejna wkoll sessjoni qasira ta’ Tai Chi. Kienet sessjoni kemm informattiva kif ukoll pjaċevoli.

Għandna parteċipanti ġodda ġewwa l-workshop tal-injam 🪵✨
Veru ħadu interess u qed jieħdu pjaċir jaħdmu flimkien bl-injam, filwaqt li jitgħallmu u jiżviluppaw ħiliet ġodda f’dan l-ispazju sabiħ li ħloqna flimkien. 💛
Hu sabiħ tara l-entużjażmu, il-kreattività u s-sens ta’ komunità jikbru minn sessjoni għall-oħra.

We have new participants joining our woodwork workshop 🪵✨
They have shown great interest and are truly enjoying working together with wood, while learning and developing new skills within this space that we created together. 💛
It is beautiful to witness the enthusiasm, creativity, and sense of community continuing to grow from one session to another. 🙌

Last week we cooked with Qawsalla using fresh seasonal ingredients. We ate stuffed green peppers filled with rice and broads beans and a delicious strawberry desert. It was a nice time cooking together!

Il-ġimgħa li għaddiet sajjarna ma’ Qawsalla b'ingredjenti friski tal-istaġun. Kilna bżar aħdar mimli bir-ross u l-ful, u deżerta tajba tal-frawli. Ħadna gost insajru flimkien!

Our volunteers recently received a training led by our community mentor, Maria Vasallo. The training focused on boundaries, safety, and working with people in the community. Training like this is important as it helps volunteers build on their knowledge and confidence, equipping them with the skills needed to take a more active role and ultimately support the development of more community-led projects.

Il-voluntiera tagħna reċentement attendew taħriġ immexxi mill-mentor tal-komunità tagħna, Maria Vasallo, li ffoka fuq il-limiti, is-sigurtà, u kif għandhom jaħdmu man-nies fil-komunità. Taħriġ bħal dan huwa importanti għax jgħin lill-voluntiera jsaħħu l-għarfien u l-kunfidenza tagħhom, u jipprovdilhom il-ħiliet meħtieġa biex jieħdu rwol aktar attiv, u fl-aħħar mill-aħħar jappoġġjaw l-iżvilupp ta’ aktar proġetti mmexxija mill-komunità.

This week, we visited the Tarxien Elderly Group and made flowers to welcome spring! We really enjoyed working together and look forward to more creative activities ahead.

Din il-ġimgħa żorna l-Grupp tal-Anzjani ta’ Ħal Tarxien u għamilna fjuri biex nilqgħu r-Rebbiegħa! Ħadna gost naħdmu flimkien u nħarsu ’l quddiem għal aktar attivitajiet kreattivi.
