Gay-Straight Alliance MCAST Gay-Straight Alliance MCAST is an aspiring new student body whose aim is promoting equality and diversity within the institutes of MCAST.

Aims :

To encourage all students to stand up for equality by promoting equality and diversity within the MCAST college whilst collaborating with other student bodies within the MCAST college;

To help the college to be safer for all students irrespective of their gender identity and/or sexual orientation by providing the support needed and education regarding such issues;

To increase the visibi

lity and acceptance of LGBT members;

To allow the voices of LGBT students to be heard;

To help eliminate homophobia and transphobia and create an inclusive environment which is safe and supportive for all students.;

To encourage teamwork by allowing LGBT and straight/cis students to work together on issues which can act as a burden on all students;

To provide all students with a safe place that is free of judgement.
