World Heritage Day 🌍 🏛️
Celebrating Resilience

Established in 1982 by UNESCO’s General Conference, the 18th of April is International Day for Monuments and Sites—also known as World Heritage Day. It highlights that conserving cultural heritage requires careful study of the past and planning for the future.

For 2026, the theme is “Emergency Response for Living Heritage in contexts of Conflicts and Disasters,” reflecting one of heritage’s biggest challenges in recent years.

In the photo: Dockyard Creek in the Grand Harbour and the Three Cities—among the most bombed places during World War II—where several historically important buildings were lost in armed conflict between 1940 and 1942. A local reminder of the resilience of Living Heritage.

An amazing Erasmus+ training course in Paralimni, Cyprus! 🇨🇾✨

Over one week, Malta participants under MUYA had the opportunity to work with youth workers from across Europe, exploring key competences in lifelong learning through workshops, teamwork and hands-on activities with young people.

From creative challenges to delivering workshops on social inclusion, human rights, and intercultural learning, this experience helped the team grow both personally and professionally 💙🌍

Thank you for everything our participants got to learn from you, and share with you too! ❤️
