Where I grew up, when young black men gathered outdoors they became prey to a mob of uniformed, organized gangsters looking for another arrest under their belts, another man to detain, criminalize and catapult into a man eating, demoralizing, hope crushing machine.
This man provided us with a safe place to commune, grow and have a positive self image and identity. He helped us and asked for nothing in return, nothing.

Science: Weather

Not one of the most interesting projects we've done. However, they have learned how to classify and describe clouds. As usual, I've learned a thing or two myself, al hamdu lillah.

They are really looking forward to the Earth's surface project. It'll be a big one, insha Allah.

Al hamdu lillah, yesterday we received a donation of school supplies from a member of ONG Deenveloppement. Jazakum Allahu khairan. We’ll open it up later and see what inside, insha Allâh.
