On behalf of the Nepali Social Association of Macau (NSAM), we wish to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to all donors, organisations, and the entire Macau community who have come forward to support in this tragic event.
The devastating floods and landslides in Nepal have caused immense human loss. The death toll in Nepal has reached 1,342, while 4,898 people are still out of contact. Similarly, in Tibet’s Gyirong County, this disaster has claimed 31 lives and over 500 people remain missing. Rescue operations are ongoing.
The Macau Red Cross has so far collected over 8 million Macau patacas in total for both affected regions.
In this relief campaign, the Macao Civil Servant Association (ATFPM) and the Nepali Social Association of Macau (NSAM) jointly collaborated and appealed to the community. We also extend special thanks to the President and Deputy Director of the Macau Red Cross for facilitating our delegation in collecting aid for the flood and landslide victims in Nepal.
We offer our heartfelt thanks to all the committee officers and members, all volunteers who worked both front and backstage in this charitable campaign, the Macau Red Cross, and all individuals involved in this effort.
The Nepali Social Association of Macau has long been assisting Nepalis in Macau in safeguarding their rights and interests, and in promoting compliance with the laws enforced by the Macau SAR government. It is well known that in times of disaster, we have repeatedly coordinated with various international organisations and donors to carry out such philanthropic work for our motherland.
