YCS Cohort 19 Application Deadline Extended! 📢

Good news for those who haven't had the chance to submit their applications yet.
The application deadline for the 19th cohort of the Young City Shapers (YCS) Programme being conducted in Mandalay for the very first time, has been extended.

Running from June to August 2026, this three-month programme is themed “Disaster Risk Preparedness and Management.” Participants will explore modules related to disaster risk management, sustainable housing and livelihoods, the use of GIS technology in disaster management, disaster preparedness communication, and youth and community engagement. Throughout the programme, participants will also learn how to develop ideas that respond to community needs, lead youth-driven community engagement activities, contribute to building sustainable and resilient communities, and collaboratively design and implement projects. This cohort will accept only 30 participants, running from June to August.

The application deadline for YCS Cohort 19 has been extended until 6 June. If you're a young person aged 35 or below and interested in joining the programme, this is your chance to apply using the links below. ပြီးခဲ့တဲ့ မေလ (၁၀) ရက်နေ့က မြန်မာနိုင်ငံဆိုင်ရာ ဥရောပသမဂ္ဂသံရုံးရဲ့ အကူအညီနဲ့ ဒို့အိမ်နဲ့ လူငယ်များဦးဆောင်တဲ့ အဖွဲ့ (၆) ဖွဲ့ စီစဉ်တဲ့ Youth Conference 2026 (YC26) မှာ မြို့ပြပုံဖော်သူ လူငယ်များလည်း ပါဝင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။

အစီအစဉ်မှာ “Youth Hackathon: Shape Your Dream City 2036” ကို ပြုလုပ်ခဲ့ပြီး အဖွင့်အနေနဲ့ မြို့ပြဖွံ့ဖြိုးရေးဆိုင်ရာ ကျွမ်းကျင်သူတစ်ဦးက ရန်ကုန်မြို့မှာ လက်ရှိကြုံတွေ့နေရတဲ့ ဘေးအန္တရာယ်ဆိုင်ရာ စိန်ခေါ်မှုများ၊ အမွေအနှစ်ထိန်းသိမ်းရေးနဲ့ လူမှုအသိုင်းအဝိုင်း ကြိုတင်ပြင်ဆင်မှုဆိုင်ရာ အကြောင်းအရာများကို မျှဝေပေးခဲ့ပါတယ်။ ဒီကတစ်ဆင့် လူငယ်များအနေနဲ့ ဒီစိန်ခေါ်မှုများက နေ့စဉ်ဘဝအပေါ် သက်ရောက်မှုရှိနေပုံနဲ့ မြို့ပြအနာဂတ်ကိုပုံဖော်ရာမှာ လူငယ်များရဲ့အသံက အရေးပါပုံကို ပိုမိုနားလည်လာခဲ့ကြပါတယ်။

ပြီးနောက်မှာတော့ လူငယ် (၃၆) ဦးက အဖွဲ့ငယ်များခွဲပြီး ထိခိုက်ပျက်စီးနိုင်ခြေရှိသော အမွေအနှစ်များ၊ ရေလွှမ်းမိုးမှုဒဏ် ခံနိုင်ရည်ရှိသော လူမှုအသိုင်းအဝိုင်းများ၊ လုံခြုံသော အများပြည်သူသုံးနေရာများ၊ ငလျင်ဘေးအန္တရာယ် အသိပညာနှင့် ကြိုတင်ပြင်ဆင်မှု နှင့် ပတ်ဝန်းကျင်နှင့် သဟဇာတဖြစ်သော သယ်ယူပို့ဆောင်ရေးစနစ် စတဲ့ အဓိကခေါင်းစဉ် (၅) ခုကို လေ့လာဆွေးနွေးခဲ့ကြပါတယ်။ ဒီလိုဆွေးနွေးမှုများကတစ်ဆင့် ပါဝင်သူတွေက လက်ရှိစိန်ခေါ်မှုများကို ဖော်ထုတ်ခဲ့ကြပြီး ၂၀၃၆ ခုနှစ်မှာ မိမိတို့မြင်လိုတဲ့ ရန်ကုန်မြို့ပုံစံကို စိတ်ကူးပုံဖော်ပြီး လူမှုအသိုင်းအဝိုင်းအဆင့်မှာ လက်တွေ့ကျကျ အကောင်အထည်ဖော်နိုင်မယ့် ဖြေရှင်းနည်းများနဲ့ လုပ်ဆောင်ချက်အစီအစဉ်များကို ထင်ဟပ်စေတဲ့ ပိုစတာ (၅) ခု ကို ဖန်တီးခဲ့ကြပါတယ်။

ဆွေးနွေးမှုများအပြီးမှာ အဖွဲ့အသီးသီးမှ မိမိတို့ရဲ့ အကြံဉာဏ်များ၊ မြို့ပြအတွက် မျှော်မှန်းချက်များနဲ့အတူ အကြံပြုချက်များကို အခြားပါဝင်သူများနှင့် မြို့ပြပုံဖော်သူ လူငယ်များအဖွဲ့ကို မျှဝေခဲ့ကြပါတယ်။

ဒီအစီအစဉ်ကတစ်ဆင့် လူငယ်တွေအတွက် သင်ယူရန်၊ အမြင်ချင်းဖလှယ်ရန်နဲ့ အကြံဉာဏ်များကို လက်တွေ့လုပ်ဆောင်ချက်များအဖြစ် ပြောင်းလဲစဉ်းစားနိုင်ရန် အခွင့်အလမ်းတစ်ရပ် ဖန်တီးပေးနိုင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။ ဒါ့အပြင် လူငယ်များအနေဖြင့် မိမိတို့ရဲ့ လူမှုအသိုင်းအဝိုင်းနဲ့ မြို့ပြအနာဂတ် ပုံဖော်ရာမှာ အရေးပါတဲ့ အခန်းကဏ္ဍကနေ ပါဝင်နိုင်တာကိုလည်း ပြသနိုင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။

With support from the European Union in Myanmar, Doh Eain successfully hosted Youth Conference 2026 (YC26) on 10 May together with youth-led organisations. Young City Shapers (YCS) was proud to be part of the event through our interactive session, “Youth Hackathon: Shape Your Dream City 2036.”

The session began with an urban expert sharing insights on current challenges facing Yangon, including disaster risks, heritage preservation, and community preparedness. Through this discussion, participants gained a deeper understanding of how these issues affect daily life and why youth voices are important in shaping the future of the city.

Following the sharing session, 36 youth participants worked in teams to explore five key themes: Heritage at Risk, Flood-Resilient Communities, Safe Public Spaces, Earthquake Risk Awareness & Preparedness, and Green Transportation. Through collaborative discussions, participants identified challenges, imagined their vision for Yangon in 2036 and developed practical community-level solutions and action plans.
The session resulted in five youth-led ideas and posters that reflected participants’ aspirations for a more resilient, inclusive and people-centered city. After the group discussions, each team pitched their ideas to fellow participants and the YCS team, sharing their visions and recommendations for the future of Yangon.

The activity created a space for young people to learn from one another, exchange perspectives, and demonstrate how youth can contribute to shaping the future of their communities and cities.

With support from the European Union in Myanmar, Young City Shapers programme has brought back the YCS Masterclass initiative to provide a deeper exploration into themes such as heritage restoration, sustainability, climate, and human-centred design. This month, we are excited to launch the second session of our masterclasses of 2026 in Yangon.
The “From Vision to Action” Masterclass will be delivered in English by Mr. Jayson Sardido, CEO of -Cola Pinya Beverages Myanmar.

Through this session, J aims to share his experiences and engage in conversations with Young City Shapers on how young people can set meaningful goals for their careers and lives, align them with their passions and aspirations, and take practical steps toward achieving them.

With over 20 years of professional experience across leading companies in the Philippines and Myanmar, J currently serves as the CEO of Coca-Cola Pinya Beverages Myanmar. He is widely recognized within the company not only as a CEO, but also as a “Chief Encouragement Officer” and “Chief Learning Officer” for his strong commitment to supporting and motivating employees to continuously learn, grow, and achieve their best. Beyond the workplace, J is also passionate about contributing to meaningful community impact and creating positive change for society.

This session is open to interested youth aged 16 to 35 years, and will be conducted in person in Yangon. Applicants are invited to apply through the form below by May 26.

ပရိုဂရမ်က ဇွန်လ မှ သြဂုတ် လအထိ (၃) လကြာမြင့်မှာဖြစ်ပြီး လက်တွေ့လုပ်ဆောင်ရမယ့် စီမံကိန်းငယ်များလည်း ပါဝင်သွားမှာဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ စာတွေ့အစီအစဉ်များကို မြန်မာဘာသာနဲ့ သင်ကြားပို့ချသွားမှာဖြစ်ပြီး အပတ်စဉ် ကြာသပတေးနေ့နဲ့ သောကြာနေ့တွေမှာ နံနက် (၉) နာရီခွဲမှ နေ့လယ် (၁၂) နာရီခွဲထိ တက်ရောက်ရမှာဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ တချို့ရက်တွေမှာ ညနေ (၄:၃၀) နာရီအထိ လည်း ဆက်လက် ပြုလုပ်နိုင်ပါတယ်။ စာတွေ့အစီအစဉ်များအပြီးမှာ စီမံကိန်းငယ်များအား အဖွဲ့လိုက် ဆက်လက်ဆောင်ရွက်ရမှာဖြစ်ပြီး ပါဝင်မယ့်သင်ခန်းစာများနဲ့ အသေးစိတ်အချက်အလက်များကို လျောက်လွှာမှာ ဖော်ပြထားပါတယ်။

အစီအစဉ်ကို လူတွေ့နဲ့ အွန်လိုင်း ပုံစံ နှစ်မျိုး ပေါင်းစပ် ပို့ချသွားမှာဖြစ်ပြီး ပါဝင်တက်ရောက်လိုသူ များအနေနဲ့ မန္တလေးမြို့ရှိ သတ်မှတ်ထားတဲ့ နေရာမှာ မဖြစ်မနေ လူတွေ့တက်ရောက်ဖို့ လိုအပ်ပါတယ်။

အခု ပရိုဂရမ်အတွက် (၃၀) ဦးသာ ခေါ်ယူမှာဖြစ်ပြီး ပရိုဂရမ်မှာပါဝင်ဖို့ စိတ်ပါဝင်စားသူ အသက် (၃၅) နှစ်အောက် လူငယ်များအနေနဲ့ လျှောက်လွှာဖောင်ကို အောက်ပါ လင်ခ့်ကတစ်ဆင့် ဇွန်လ (၂) ရက်နေ့ နောက်ဆုံးထားဖြည့်စွက်ကာ လျှောက်ထားနိုင်ပါတယ်။ လျှောက်ထားသူများကို အွန်လိုင်းမှတစ်ဆင့် လူတွေ့စစ်ဆေးပြီး တက်ရောက်ခွင့်ရသူများကိုသာ အီးမေးလ်ဖြင့် ပြန်လည်အကြောင်းကြားပေးသွားမှာဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ ပရိုဂရမ်ပြီးဆုံးပါက သတ်မှတ်ချက်နဲ့ ကိုက်ညီတဲ့ လူငယ်များကို အသိအမှတ်ပြုလက်မှတ်များ ပေးအပ်သွားမှာပါ။

We are excited to return with the upcoming cohort of the Young City Shapers Programme in Mandalay.

Applications are now open for “YCS Cohort 19”, the first Young City Shapers Programme in Mandalay jointly organised by Doh Eain's Young City Shapers Programme and KBZ Bank.

For this 19th cohort, the programme will focus on the theme “Disaster Risk Preparedness and Management.” Participants will explore modules related to disaster risk management, sustainable housing and livelihoods, the use of GIS technology in disaster management, disaster preparedness communication, and youth and community engagement.

Throughout the programme, participants will also learn how to develop ideas that respond to community needs, lead youth-driven community engagement activities, contribute to building sustainable and resilient communities, and collaboratively design and implement projects.

The programme will run from June to August 2026, spanning three months and including hands-on capstone project work. The 4-week coursework will be delivered in Myanmar language every Thursday and Friday from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM in hybrid, with some sessions continuing until 4:30 PM. After completing the cohort modules, participants will continue working on group projects. Detailed programme information and module descriptions can be found in the application form.

The programme will be delivered through both in-person and hybrid formats. However, all cohort participants are required to attend the in-person sessions at the designated location in Mandalay.

Only 30 participants will be selected for this programme. Young people under the age of 35 who are interested in participating can apply through the link below no later than June 2. Applicants will go through an online interview process, and only selected participants will be contacted via email.

Participants who successfully complete the programme according to the programme requirements will receive certificates of recognition.

With support from the European Union in Myanmar, Young City Shapers programme has brought back the YCS Masterclass initiative to provide a deeper exploration into themes such as heritage restoration, sustainability, climate, and human-centred design. This month, we are excited to launch the second session of our masterclasses of 2026 in Yangon.
The “From Vision to Action” Masterclass will be delivered in English by Mr. Jayson Sardido, CEO of -Cola Pinya Beverages Myanmar.

Through this session, J aims to share his experiences and engage in conversations with Young City Shapers on how young people can set meaningful goals for their careers and lives, align them with their passions and aspirations, and take practical steps toward achieving them.

With over 20 years of professional experience across leading companies in the Philippines and Myanmar, J currently serves as the CEO of Coca-Cola Pinya Beverages Myanmar. He is widely recognized within the company not only as a CEO, but also as a “Chief Encouragement Officer” and “Chief Learning Officer” for his strong commitment to supporting and motivating employees to continuously learn, grow, and achieve their best. Beyond the workplace, J is also passionate about contributing to meaningful community impact and creating positive change for society.

This session is open to interested youth aged 16 to 35 years, and will be conducted in person in Yangon. Applicants are invited to apply through the form below by May 26.

The 18th cohort of the Young City Shapers (YCS) programme, themed “Community Wellbeing and Inclusion,” officially kicked off on May 8 with 30 passionate youth participants.

Over the course of the programme, participants will explore key areas such as Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI), understanding social inequalities, and youth and community engagement, through a mix of in-class sessions and hands-on capstone projects.

One of the participants, Yoon Myat Mo, shared her enthusiasm for the programme and her vision for the upcoming capstone project, along with the new perspectives she gained right from the very first day:

“I first learned about the programme through social media, and decided to join because it offers not only theoretical lectures but also the chance to work on projects directly on the ground and meet like-minded people. I knew it would be a vast new experience for me. Even though we’ve just started, I am 100% excited because everything I’m learning here is completely new to me.

I already have several project ideas in mind for my capstone project. With my deep interest in the education sector, I want to conduct detailed research and develop programmes to help children in rural areas where access to proper education is still limited compared to urban settings.”

လူငယ်များ ဦးဆောင်တဲ့ အဖွဲ့ (၆) ဖွဲ့က ပြုလုပ်သွားမယ့် အစီအစဉ် တစ်ခုချင်းစီကို လေ့လာကာ မိမိကြိုက်နှစ်သက်ရာ အစီအစဉ်အလိုက် ဦးစားပေးစနစ်နဲ့ ရွေးချယ်စာရင်းပေးပြီး တက်ရောက်နိုင်မှာပါ။

Organised by Doh Eain with the support of the European Union in Myanmar, in collaboration with Young City Shapers and other youth-led organisations, here’s a closer look at the activities that will be part of Youth Conference 2026 (YC26)!

Six youth-led organisations will be hosting diverse sessions as below. Participants can explore each activity and register based on their preferences through a prioritised selection system.

A collaborative hackathon exploring how future city ideas can respond to today’s urban challenges, working together to imagine practical solutions for a more liveable Yangon.

🟡 Career Launch Lab: Empowering Youth for Job Readiness
by WIFI Talks (9:30 AM – 12:00 PM)
A career-focused session offering guidance on job applications, workplace expectations, and building confidence for entering the workforce.

🟠 CSE & Sexual Harassment Awareness Workshop

An open discussion on reproductive health, consent, and awareness around harassment, creating space to learn and reflect.
