* Presidents, Past Presidents, and Charter Presidents from Rotary Clubs across Myanmar convened an urgent Emergency Response Team Meeting (held both in-person and via Zoom virtual meeting) to organize immediate relief efforts for flood victims in Lay Myatna Township.
* During the meeting, detailed plans and actionable strategies were discussed and finalized to accelerate ground-level rescue and relief operations.
2ď¸âŁ Ground-Level Relief and Rescue Operations
* The "Gyi Lay Gyi Relief Team," which has a formal MOU with RCRA, has arrived at the affected sites and is actively carrying out emergency rescue and evacuation operations.
* RCRA members and generous donors continue to contribute essential supplies, including purified drinking water, food rations, and financial aid.
3ď¸âŁ Current Flood Situation in Lay Myatna Township
* In Lay Myatna Township, Ayeyarwady Region, the Ngawun River embankment breach has expanded to over 200 feet wide. On this 4th day of flooding, conditions remain severe, affecting nearly 20,000 residents.
* With transportation networks disrupted and telecom towers at risk of cutting off communications, there is an urgent need for motorboats, fuel, drinking water, medical supplies, and food rations to support rescue teams and victims.
