What is Digital Cleanup Day?🧐
In our fast-paced digital world, trash is everywhere - junk mail, forgotten files, and duplicate photos create a significant amount of digital waste. “Digital trash” leads to digital pollution, large energy consumption and creates a large digital carbon footprint in terms of CO2 emissions. In fact, the internet generates 900 million tons of CO2 each year, more than the annual output of Germany!😱
But don’t worry - Digital Cleanup Day is here to help! Celebrated on the second Saturday of March, the next campaign is on March 15, 2025. Launched in 2020 by Let’s Do It World, this global initiative aims to combat the energy consumption and CO2 emissions caused by wasteful digital practices.🤗
In 2023, over 380,000 participants from 105 countries deleted an incredible 12.7 million GB of digital clutter, preventing at least 1,742 tons of CO2 from entering the atmosphere. The results for 2024 are still being counted, but every action counts!🤩
Join us for Digital Cleanup Day organized by Parami University and help make a significant impact on our digital environment for a cleaner, greener future!💪🤩
