✏️"Akyab Institute is a youth-focused educational initiative that provides access to quality learning opportunities for marginalized and conflict-affected youth from any parts of Myanmar, and particularly from Rakhine State and southern Chin State (Paletwa). The institute offers a one-year intensive scholarship program in social studies, leadership, and community development, designed to equip young people with the knowledge, skills, and mindset to become effective changemakers in their communities.
The program emphasizes critical thinking, peacebuilding, gender equality, human rights, governance, environmental awareness, and digital literacy. It combines academic coursework with practical learning experiences such as internships, extracurricular clubs and outdoor activities."

🧰Akyab Institute _Program Overview
• Program Duration: 9-month academic coursework + 3-month internship
• Number of Participants: 20 to 25 candidates
• Target Areas: Rakhine & Paletwa (youth from other parts of Myanmar are also welcomed to apply)
• Format : Online Program
Eligibility Criteria
📄 Required Criteria:
• Pre-intermediate English proficiency in all four skills
• Matriculated or currently enrolled in a university
• Strong interest in the courses offered by Akyab Institute
• Basic understanding of social science subjects or a strong desire to learn them
• Willingness to pursue higher education (locally or internationally)
• Commitment to contribute to community betterment after graduation
• Motivation, adaptability, and resilience to complete program
📄Preferred Criteria:
• Aged between 18–30
• Youth Originally From Rakhine or Paletwa, Chin State (Dynamic and motivated individual from any parts of Myanmar can also apply.)
• At least one year of community work or volunteer experience
