အပြည်ပြည်ဆိုင်ရာ အလုပ်သမားနေ့ (May Day) အထိမ်းအမှတ်အဖြစ် မြန်မာနိုင်ငံ အလုပ်ရှင်များအဖွဲ့ (MEO) သည် အလွန်ခက်ခဲသော အခြေအနေများအောက်တွင် အလုပ်သမား ဂုဏ်သိက္ခာကို ထိန်းသိမ်းကာ လူမှုအသိုင်းအဝိုင်းများကို ဆက်လက်ထောက်ပံ့နေကြသည့် မြန်မာနိုင်ငံတစ်ဝန်းရှိ အလုပ်သမားများနှင့်အတူ တစ်သားတည်း ရပ်တည်ပါသည်။
May Day သည် အလုပ်ခွင်အတွင်း ဂုဏ်သိက္ခာ၊ အခွင့်အရေးနှင့် တရားမျှတမှုအတွက် စုပေါင်းတော်လှန် တိုက်ပွဲဝင်ခဲ့သည့် သမိုင်းဝင်နေ့တစ်နေ့ ဖြစ်ပါသည်။ ယနေ့ မြန်မာနိုင်ငံအခြေအနေတွင် အဆိုပါတန်ဖိုးများကို လွတ်လပ်မှု၊ ဒီမိုကရေစီနှင့် ဥပဒေစိုးမိုးရေးအတွက် ကျယ်ပြန့်သော တော်လှန်ရေးမှ ခွဲထုတ်၍ မရနိုင်ပါ။ ဖိနှိပ်မှု၊ တရားမဝင်မှုနှင့် ကြောက်ရွံ့မှုများအောက်တွင် အလုပ်ရှင်များနှင့် အလုပ်သမားများ နှစ်ဖက်စလုံး တိုးတက်ဖွံ့ဖြိုးနိုင်မည် မဟုတ်ပါ။
MEO သည် စစ်အာဏာသိမ်းမှု၊ အတုအယောင်ရွေးကောက်ပွဲနှင့် စစ်အာဏာမှ ဖန်တီးထားသည့် မည်သည့် အမည်ခံ အရပ်သားအစိုးရပုံစံကိုမဆို ပြတ်ပြတ်သားသား ငြင်းပယ်ပါသည်။ ထိုကဲ့သို့သော ဖွဲ့စည်းပုံများသည် ဒီမိုကရေစီဆိုင်ရာ တရားဝင်မှုမရှိဘဲ အခြေခံအခွင့်အရေးများကို ချိုးဖောက်ကာ သင့်တင့်လျောက်ပတ်သော အလုပ်အကိုင်၊ ဥပဒေလိုက်နာသော စီးပွားရေးလုပ်ငန်းများနှင့် စစ်မှန်သော စီးပွားရေးပြန်လည်နာလန်ထူရေးအတွက် လိုအပ်သော အခြေအနေများကို ထိခိုက်စေပါသည်။
သုံးပွင့်ဆိုင်ပူးပေါင်းဆောင်ရွက်မှု (Tripartism)၊ လူမှုဆွေးနွေးညှိနှိုင်းမှု (Social Dialogue) နှင့် အပြည်ပြည်ဆိုင်ရာ အလုပ်သမားစံနှုန်းများကို လိုက်နာရန် ကတိပြုထားသည့် အလုပ်ရှင်အဖွဲ့အစည်းတစ်ရပ်အနေဖြင့် MEO သည် ဒီမိုကရေစီမရှိဘဲ သင့်တင့်လျောက်ပတ်သော အလုပ်အကိုင် မရှိနိုင်ကြောင်း၊ အာဏာရှင်စနစ်အောက်တွင် ရေရှည်တည်တံ့သော စီးပွားရေးလုပ်ငန်းများ မဖြစ်နိုင်ကြောင်းနှင့် တရားဝင်မှု၊ တာဝန်ခံမှုနှင့် လူ့ဂုဏ်သိက္ခာကို လေးစားမှုမရှိဘဲ လူမှုတည်ငြိမ်မှု မရရှိနိုင်ကြောင်း အခိုင်အမာ အတည်ပြုအပ်ပါသည်။
MEO သည် ဖိနှိပ်မှုကို ဆန့်ကျင်ကာ တရားမဝင် ဖွဲ့စည်းပုံများကို အသိအမှတ်မပြုဘဲ ကျင့်ဝတ်နှင့်ညီညွတ်သော စီးပွားရေးဆောင်ရွက်မှု၊ အလုပ်သမားအခွင့်အရေးများနှင့် လူမှုရေးတာဝန်ယူမှုများအတွက် ရပ်တည်နေကြသည့် အလုပ်သမားများနှင့် အလုပ်ရှင်များအား ဂုဏ်ပြုအပ်ပါသည်။ ထို့အပြင် အလုပ်သမားအခွင့်အရေးများနှင့် ဒီမိုကရေစီအုပ်ချုပ်မှုကို တိုးတက်မြှင့်တင်နိုင်ရန် အလုပ်သမားအဖွဲ့အစည်းများ၊ တရားဝင်အလုပ်သမားအာဏာပိုင်များနှင့် နိုင်ငံတကာအသိုင်းအဝိုင်းတို့နှင့် ပူးပေါင်းဆောင်ရွက်သွားမည့် ကတိကဝတ်ကိုလည်း ထပ်လောင်းအတည်ပြုအပ်ပါသည်။
ဤ May Day တွင် MEO သည် ဒီမိုကရေစီနှင့် တရားဝင် အရပ်သားအစိုးရအုပ်ချုပ်မှု ပြန်လည်ထူထောင်ရေး၊ ဖိနှိပ်မှုနှင့် ခြိမ်းခြောက်မှုများ အဆုံးသတ်ရေး၊ တရားဝင်မှုအပေါ် အခြေခံသည့် အဓိပ္ပါယ်ရှိသော သုံးပွင့်ဆိုင်ပူးပေါင်းဆောင်ရွက်မှု တည်ဆောက်ရေးနှင့် အလုပ်သမားအခွင့်အရေးများ၊ လူ့အခွင့်အရေးများနှင့် တာဝန်ခံမှုကို ကာကွယ်ထိန်းသိမ်းရန် နိုင်ငံတကာ၏ ဆက်လက်ထောက်ခံအားပေးမှုတို့ကို တောင်းဆိုပါသည်။

On International Workers’ Day (May Day), the Myanmar Employers Organisation (MEO) stands in solidarity with workers across Myanmar who continue to endure insecurity, injustice, and uncertainty while upholding the dignity of labour and sustaining communities under extraordinarily difficult conditions.
May Day is a historic day of collective struggle for dignity, rights, and justice at work. In Myanmar today, these values cannot be separated from the broader struggle for freedom, democracy, and the rule of law. Employers and workers alike cannot thrive under repression, illegitimacy, and fear.
MEO unequivocally rejects the military coup, sham election, and any so-called civilian administration manufactured from military power. Such arrangements lack democratic legitimacy, violate fundamental rights, and undermine the conditions necessary for decent work, lawful enterprise, and genuine economic recovery.
As an employers’ organisation committed to tripartism, social dialogue, and international labour standards, MEO affirms that there can be no decent work without democracy, no sustainable enterprises under authoritarian rule, and no social stability without legitimacy, accountability, and respect for human dignity.
MEO honours workers and employers who continue to resist repression, refuse to legitimise unlawful structures, and stand for ethical business conduct, workers’ rights, and social responsibility. We also reaffirm our commitment to cooperation with workers’ organisations, legitimate labour authorities, and the international community to advance labour rights and democratic governance.
On this May Day, MEO calls for the restoration of democracy and legitimate civilian governance, an end to repression and intimidation, meaningful tripartite cooperation grounded in legitimacy, and continued international solidarity to uphold labour rights, human rights, and accountability.
May Day reminds us that justice, freedom, and dignity at work have always been achieved through unity, courage, and principled resistance. MEO reaffirms its commitment to stand with workers, responsible employers, and the democratic future of Myanmar.

နှစ်စဉ် မေလ (၁) ရက်နေ့တွင် ကျရောက်သော ကမ္ဘာ့အလုပ် သမားနေ့ (May Day) သည် ကမ္ဘာတဝှမ်းရှိ အလုပ်သမားထု၏ အခွင့်အရေး၊ တန်းတူညီမျှမှုနှင့် လူ့ဂုဏ်သိက္ခာ အတွက် တိုက်ပွဲဝင်လာခဲ့သည့် သမိုင်းဝင် နေ့ထူးနေ့မြတ် ဖြစ်ပါသည်။ ၎င်းနေ့ထူး နေ့မြတ်တွင် အလုပ်သမားလှုပ်ရှားမှု သမိုင်းတစ်လျှောက် စွန့်လွှတ်အနစ်နာခံ တိုက်ပွဲဝင် ခဲ့ကြသည့် သူရဲကောင်းအပေါင်းတို့အား လေးစားဂုဏ်ပြုအပ်ပါသည်။

မေဒေးနေ့ အခမ်းအနားသို့ အမျိုးသားညီညွတ်ရေးအစိုးရ၊ ပြည်ထောင်စု ဝန်ကြီးချုပ် ဦးဆောင်တက်ရောက်မည်ဖြစ်ပြီး အမျိုးသားညီညွတ်ရေးအစိုးရ၊ နိုင်ငံတော် ယာယီသမ္မတကြီးက ပေးပို့သော သဝဏ်လွှာ ဖတ်ကြားခြင်း၊ အလုပ်သမားထု၏ စည်းလုံးညီညွတ်မှုနှင့် လူ့ဂုဏ်သိက္ခာကို အလေးထား ဖော်ပြခြင်း၊ အဓမ္မခိုင်းစေမှုဆိုင်ရာ မူဝါဒအား မိတ်ဆက်ခြင်းနှင့် သက်ဆိုင်ရာအဖွဲ့အစည်းများမှ တာဝန်ရှိပုဂ္ဂိုလ်များ၊ အလုပ်ရှင်၊ အလုပ်သမားအဖွဲ့အစည်းများမှ ကိုယ်စားလှယ်များ၊ တော်လှန် ရေးအင်အားစုများနှင့် မိတ်ဖက်အဖွဲ့အစည်းများက တက်ရောက်အမှာစကား ပြောကြားခြင်း အစီအစဉ်များ ပါဝင်မည်ဖြစ်ပါသည်။

Statement on the Recent Detentions of Employer Association Leaders in Myanmar

The Myanmar Employers Organisation (MEO) expresses its concern regarding recent reports of the detention of senior management representatives from several employer and business membership associations in Myanmar. These developments include:
• A 5 February 2026 news report stated that the Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, and Secretary of the Yangon Region Gold Traders Association were detained over allegations related to buying and reselling gold at external market rates. The military junta claimed their private sector transactions contributed to domestic market instability and violated existing regulatory directives.
• A 12 February 2026 news report stated that the Chairperson and Secretary of the Myanmar Petroleum Import and Distribution Association were detained over alleged irregularities involving fuel trading and foreign currency transactions, after which new leadership for the association was appointed immediately. The report noted that the two detained leaders had earlier been summoned for questioning and that the decision followed broader investigations into sector related misconduct.
According to public reports, these events occurred in connection with alleged irregularities related to market activities in the gold and fuel sectors. The immediate appointment of new leadership following the detentions raises important concerns regarding autonomy, independence, and governance of employer and business membership organisations.
Employer and business associations play a critically important role in ensuring market transparency, supporting stable economic governance, and representing the interests of enterprises across sectors. Their ability to operate without interference, elect their leaders freely, and engage in dialogue on behalf of their members is an essential element of a stable economic environment.
International labour standards place significant emphasis on these principles. ILO Convention No. 87 on Freedom of Association and Protection of the Right to Organise affirms that employers and workers have the right to establish and manage their organisations without interference. These principles were further underscored in the 2025 ILO Conference Article 33 resolution concerning Myanmar, which calls for strengthened guarantees of freedom of association and the protection of employer and worker representatives.
Actions that affect the ability of employer organisations to operate independently may have broader implications for:
• the functioning and credibility of market governance mechanisms,
• investor and business confidence,
• predictable economic operations, and
• the broader framework of social dialogue.
In this context, MEO highlights the importance of ensuring that:
1. Representatives of employer organisations are able to carry out their duties without intimidation or undue pressure.
2. Any legal or administrative measures involving association leaders follow transparent, impartial, and predictable due process standards.
3. The independence and voluntary nature of employer organisations remain fully respected.
4. Commitments under international labour standards—including those referenced by ILO Convention No. 87 and Article 33 of the ILO Constitution—are upheld.
MEO reaffirms its commitment to supporting an economic environment grounded in stability, transparency, and internationally recognized principles of freedom of association. Ensuring that employer organisations can function effectively and independently is fundamental to sustainable economic development and to the constructive participation of the business community.

စစ်ကောင်စီလက်အောက်ခံ ဗဟိုဘဏ်က ငွေသားထုတ်ယူမှု ကန့်သတ်လိုက်တာကြောင့် လုပ်ငန်းလည်ပတ်ရေးမှာ အခက်အခဲတွေ ကြုံတွေ့နေရတယ်လို့ လုပ်ငန်းရှင်တွေက ပြောပါတယ်။

လက်ရှိမှာတော့ ဘဏ်တွေကနေ နေ့စဉ်နဲ့ အပတ်စဉ် ငွေသားထုတ်ယူခွင့် ပမာဏတွေကို ကန့်သတ်ထားတာကြောင့် ကုန်ကြမ်းဝယ်ယူတာ၊ ဝန်ထမ်းလစာ ပေးချေတာနဲ့ ကုန်ပစ္စည်းဖြန့်ချိရေး လုပ်ငန်းစဉ်တွေမှာ နှောင့်နှေးတာတွေ ဖြစ်နေတယ်လို့ ဆိုပါတယ်။

အသေးစားနဲ့ အလတ်စား လုပ်ငန်းရှင်တယောက်က “ဘဏ်ထဲမှာတော့ ငွေရှိတယ်၊ ဒါပေမဲ့ အလွယ်တကူ ထုတ်လို့မရဘူး။ ငွေကြေးစီးဆင်းမှုက မလည်ပတ်တော့ဘူး၊ အရမ်းအခက်အခဲဖြစ်ရတယ်။ ကုန်ကြမ်းတွေမှာပြီး ငွေရှင်းဖို့ဆိုရင် တော်တော်နဲ့ထုတ်မရဘူး။ ကိုယ့်ပိုက်ဆံ ကိုယ်ထုတ်တာတောင် ဒုက္ခရောက်ရတယ်" လို့ ပြောပါတယ်။

စစ်ကောင်စီလက်အောက်ခံ ဗဟိုဘဏ်ဥက္ကဋ္ဌ ဒေါ်သန်းသန်းဆွေက ဒေါ်လာ၊ ရွှေ အပါအဝင် ဈေးကစားတဲ့ ဈေးကွက်တွေအတွင်းကို ကျပ်ငွေထုတ်ယူ ရင်းနှီးမြှုပ်နှံတာကို အားမပေးကြောင်း ပြောဆိုပြီး ငွေသားထုတ်ယူမှုတွေကို ထိန်းချုပ်နေတယ်လို့ ပြီးခဲ့တဲ့ ဖေဖော်ဝါရီ ၅ ရက်က မြန်မာနိုင်ငံကုန်သည်များနှင့် စက်မှုလက်မှုလုပ်ငန်းရှင်များအသင်းချုပ် (UMFCCI) မှာ ပြုလုပ်ခဲ့တဲ့ ကုန်သည်တွေနဲ့ တွေ့ဆုံတဲ့ အခမ်းအနားတခုမှာ ပြောဆိုပြီးနောက်ပိုင်း ငွေသားထုတ်ယူ‌မှုတွေ ခက်ခဲလာတာ ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။

ငွေသားလည်ပတ်မှု လျော့နည်းလာတာဟာ ဈေးကွက်အတွင်း ဝယ်လိုအားနဲ့ ရောင်းလိုအား မညီမျှမှုတွေကို ဖြစ်စေနိုင်ပြီး ကုန်ဈေးနှုန်း မတည်ငြိမ်မှုတွေလည်း ပေါ်ပေါက်လာနိုင်တယ်လို့ စီးပွားရေးလုပ်ငန်းရှင်တယောက်က သုံးသပ်ပါတယ်။

ဒါ့အပြင် ဘဏ်တွေမှာ ငွေသားထုတ်ယူမှု ကန့်သတ်လာတာတွေကြောင့် Kpay၊ Wave pay၊ CB Pay အစရှိတဲ့ ငွေလဲအေးဂျင့်တွေမှာလည်း ရာခိုင်နှုန်း တိုးမြင့်လာတာတွေ ရှိတယ်လို့ သိရပါတယ်။

Today’s so-called election is illegitimate and conducted under violence, repression, and fear.
• Opposition parties banned, leaders jailed.
• Workers and employers face intimidation and arrests.
• International bodies have condemned this farce.
Democracy and economic stability cannot exist under military rule.
We call on ASEAN, UN, and global partners to refuse recognition, strengthen sanctions, and support a genuine, inclusive democratic process.

On behalf of Myanmar’s employers and workers, we convey our deepest condolences to His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua, the Royal Family, and the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother.
Her Majesty’s lifelong devotion to the Thai people and her tireless efforts to advance social welfare, cultural heritage, and sustainable development have left an enduring legacy of compassion and service. Her contributions alongside His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great strengthened the foundations of national unity and progress, earning admiration across the region and the world.

"စစ်ရာဇဝတ်ကောင် မင်းအောင်လှိုင်ဟာ တရုတ်ရဲ့ ပံ့ပိုးကူညီမှု မရှိဘဲနဲ့ အာဏာကို ရနိုင်တော့မှာမဟုတ်ပါဘူး။ ဒါဟာ မင်းအောင်လှိုင်ရဲ့ စစ်ရာဇဝတ်မှု လူသားမျိုးနွယ်အပေါ် ကျူးလွန်တဲ့ ရာဇဝတ်မှုတွေမှာ တရုတ်က ပါဝင်နေတာဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ အဲဒါကတော့ အင်အားကြီးမားပြီး လေးစားစားရတဲ့ နိုင်ငံကြီးတစ်ခုရဲ့ အပြုအမူတော့မဟုတ်ပါဘူး။ ကျနော်အနေနဲ့ တရုတ်ကို ပြောချင်တာက မင်းတို့ရဲ့ နယ်စပ်ဒေသမှာ တည်ငြိမ်မှု လိုချင်တယ်ဆိုရင် ၊ မင်းရဲ့ အခြေခံ အဆောက်အအုံ လမ်းကြောင်းကို ကာကွယ်ချင်တယ်၊ သဘာ၀သယံဇာတတွေကို အသုံးပြုခွင့်ရချင်တယ်ဆိုရင် ၊ ဒါတွေက တရုတ်နိုင်ငံရဲ့ နိုင်ငံခြားရေးပေါ် လစီ ပန်းတိုင်တွေဆိုရင် ဒီမုန်းတီးစရာ ကောင်းတဲ့စစ်တပ်အတွက် မင်းရဲ့ထောက်ခံမှုဟာ မင်းရည်မှန်းချက်တွေကို ဖြစ်စေနိုင်ပါ့မလားဆိုတာကို ငါသံသဖြစ်မိပါတယ်။ တရုတ်နိုင်ငံကို ကျနော်တို့ ပြောချင်တာက မင်းတို့ဟာ ကမ္ဘာပေါ်မှာ အလွန်အဆိုးရွားဆုံး စစ်အာဏာရှင်တွေကို ထောက်ပံ့ပေးနေသူဖြစ်ပါတယ်" ဟု နယူးဇီလန် လွှတ်တော်အမတ် Phil Twyford က ပြောဆိုသည်။

လက်ရှိတွင် စစ်အာဏာသိမ်းထားသော မြန်မာနိုင်ငံသည် စနစ်တကျ ရာဇဝတ်မှုများ ကျူးလွန်နေသော နိုင်ငံ၊ ကမ္ဘာကြီးကို လိမ်လည်လှည့်ဖြားနေသော ကျားဖြန့်စင်တာကြီး၊ တရားမဝင် မူးယစ်ဆေးဝါးများ ထုတ်လုပ်ရာနေရာကြီးဖြစ်လာနေကြောင်း၊မြန်မာနိုင်ငံတွင် စဉ်ဆက်မပြတ် တည်ငြိမ်မှုရှိသော ငြိမ်းချမ်းရေးနှင့် ဒီမိုကရေစီ လမ်းကြောင်း ပေါ် ပြန်လည်ရောက်ရှိမှသာ တရုတ်နိုင်ငံ၏ ရည်မှန်းချက်ကို ရရှိလိမ့်မည်ဖြစ်ကြောင်း ၎င်းက ထောက်ပြထားသည်။
