Quand Hawa n'avait que 12 ans, le conflit a forcé sa famille à fuir leur maison au Mali. Elle a perdu son éducation, sa maison et toute certitude sur l'avenir.
Vivre dans un camp de réfugiés, chaque jour était une lutte pour trouver assez de nourriture. Hawa a pris de petits boulots pour aider ses parents,… plus

When Hawa was just 12 years old, conflict forced her family to flee their home in Mali. She lost her education, her home and any certainty about the future.
Living in a refugee camp for many years, every day was a struggle to find enough food. Hawa took on small jobs to help her parents, and at one point almost lost her future when she faced being married to an elderly man so he could support her family financially.
Today, Hawa's story is one of hope.
Thanks to the Joliba Trust team in Mali, she is training to become a seamstress alongside three other young displaced women. Together, they are learning skills that will enable them to open their own tailoring workshop, providing an essential service in communities where there are currently no tailors.
Hawa says:
"This training gives me hope. I am learning a job that allows me to feel useful and to think about my future with more confidence. Every day I discover new techniques and I get closer to my dream of becoming a professional seamstress and being able to support myself."
