Malian Association of Teachers of English (MATE) was honored to be represented by its Chairperson, Mahamadou Karamoko Kahiraba KOÏTA at the Mali English Clubs' Council (MECC) General Assembly for the 2026–2027 mandate.

This important gathering brought together English clubs, leaders, partners, and committed members sharing the same ambition: strengthening the English-speaking community and promoting youth leadership in Mali.

The ceremony reflected a spirit of unity, collaboration, and commitment toward impactful initiatives for the new mandate. It was also an opportunity to exchange ideas, reinforce partnerships, and celebrate the engagement of young leaders working for the growth of English clubs nationwide.

MATE congratulates MECC on the successful organization of this meaningful event and wishes the council a productive and successful mandate ahead.

📢 Official Statement – MATE

The Malian Association of Teachers of English (MATE), through its Chairman expresses its deep concern over the recent acts of aggression against teachers.

Schools must remain places of safety, respect, and learning. Violence against educators is unacceptable and undermines the very foundation of our education system.

MATE strongly condemns these incidents and urges the relevant authorities to take immediate, concrete, and effective measures to ensure the safety and protection of teachers across the country.

The protection of teachers is not optional — it is essential.
Without safe teachers, there can be no quality education. Without education, there is no future.
