📜 Daily Torah Study & Segulah ✨ | Friday, 3rd of Av
According to the beautiful custom of the honorable Admor, we read 5 specific verses from the Book of Devarim (Deuteronomy) daily, followed by a powerful Segulah (spiritual remedy) for blessing and success.
Today's reading continues in Parashat Devarim (Deuteronomy 2:25–29). G-d promises to place the fear of the Israelites upon all the surrounding nations. Yet, despite having ultimate divine backing and the command to conquer, Moses teaches us a profound lesson in Jewish ethics: he sends messengers of peace first. He politely asks King Sihon for safe passage, offering to pay for all food and water. This teaches us that even when we are strong, peace must always be our first resort! 🕊️🤝
📖 Today’s Verses:
{25} "This day I will begin to put the dread of you and the fear of you upon the peoples everywhere under heaven, who, when they hear the report of you, shall tremble and be in anguish because of you."
{26} "And I sent messengers out of the wilderness of Kedemoth to Sihon king of Heshbon with words of peace, saying:"
{27} "'Let me pass through your land; I will go only by the road, I will turn neither to the right hand nor to the left."

It is a daily reminder that providing unintentional charity for the vulnerable—the stranger, the orphan, and the widow—is the ultimate conduit for drawing God’s blessing upon all of our endeavors:
"When you reap your harvest in your field and forget a sheaf in the field, you shall not go back to get it; it shall be for the stranger, the orphan, and the widow, so that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hands." (Deuteronomy 24:19)

He explains that just as G-d helped other nations (like the descendants of Lot and Esau) conquer lands previously inhabited by formidable giants, God will do the exact same for Israel. It concludes with God’s command to cross the Arnon River and begin the conquest of the Promised Land! ⚔️🛡️

{20} "That too is accounted a land of Rephaim; Rephaim formerly dwelt in it, but the Ammonites call them Zamzummin.
