Our non-profit culinary training center supports underprivileged women in Marrakesh, Morocco. The Amal Women's Training Center & Moroccan Restaurant supports women who face challenges in supporting themselves and their families, including those who are illiterate or who have struggled with poverty. Located in Marrakech, Morocco, the Amal Women's Center is a restaurant serving delicious Moroccan c

uisine. The goal of this nonprofit is to improve the quality of life for disadvantaged women by giving them the tools they need to start supporting themselves, beginning with cooking skills and literacy training. Amal (Centre de Formation des Femmes et Restaurant Marocain) soutient les femmes qui ont des difficultés à subvenir à leurs besoins et aux besoins de leurs familles, notamment les mères veuves ou abandonnées par leurs maris , les femmes analphabètes et celles qui souffrent de pauvreté. Situé à Marrakech, le centre Amal est un restaurant qui sert des mets marocains savoureux et qui deviendra bientôt un centre d'enseignement de la cuisine marocaine pour le public. L'objectif de cette association à but non lucratif est l'amélioration de la qualité de vie des femmes défavorisées par l'enseignement des compétences nécessaires pour subvenir à leurs besoins, notamment la formation culinaire et l'alphabétisation.

to when we marked our 6th day of the earthquake emergency relief since it hit. We made over 600 hot couscous meals and distributed them in hospitals and the affected areas in Marrakech city! We are incredibly proud of the sense of solidarity that brought all of us together!

to when Our team paid a field visit to the area of Ighil, where Amal focused its relief efforts on a cluster of 28 villages. We had not ventured this close to the epicenter and the destruction is simply unfathomable. Practically all buildings are either demolished or unsuitable for living. This is just a microcosm of the 300,000 people whose homes have been destroyed by the earthquake.

In Ighil, we met with representatives of each village, and distributed our second batch of solar lamps, bringing the total to 192 lamps so far. We greatly value working directly with trusted community leaders, both men and women, as it is vital to hear their needs and work together on various solutions that Amal and other NGOs can provide.

Pressing needs identified so far:

- Shower and bathrooms
- Fix the water canal which is damaged (many villagers have sold their livestock because there is nowhere for them to drink)
- Winterized living accommodations
- Winter clothing and blankets
- Cooking gear kit for each family

We want to thank our donors for their overwhelming generosity. It is both an honor and a weighty responsibility to deliver your aid directly to those affected by this disaster.
