GWA is soon to celebrate 20 years of providing an excellent, American education in Casablanca.

George Washington Academy is an American International School, empowering K-12 students to excel academically, embrace cultural diversity, and grow into inspired, impactful global leaders. GWA educates the whole person by equipping minds and building character: empowering students to serve Morocco and the global community with wisdom and compassion. GWA was recently fully re-accredited by the Midd

le States Association. Today, GWA is one of the five official American schools in Morocco, recognized under the Morocco-US Bi-lateral agreement. George Washington Academy delivers an American high school diploma accepted worldwide. Our student body is nearly 900 students today, from a pre-school program beginning with Nursery (2 year-olds) through 12th Grade. We have over 40 nationalities on campus – roughly 60% Moroccan, 20% American and 20% others.

Orientation Week is about getting to know the people who will be part of the journey.

Our new team members kicked off the orientation sessions with fun and engaging ice-breaker activities, creating opportunities to connect, share a few laughs, and discover more about one another beyond their roles.

These simple moments of connection help build trust, strengthen relationships, and create a sense of belonging, setting the stage for a smooth and successful start to the school year.

Behind every successful start is a team making sure no detail is overlooked.

Throughout Orientation Week, our HR team has created a welcoming and holistic experience for our new hires helping them feel informed, supported, and ready to begin their GWA journey.

From explaining the benefits and resources available to our employees to guiding new team members through school policies, procedures, and the support available to them, every session was designed to answer questions, build confidence, and make the transition into our community as smooth as possible.

A new school year is a big step and the Summer Jumpstart Program was designed to make that step feel exciting, confident, and familiar.

Led by experienced GWA teachers, our in-person program helps students get ready for success through:

Throwback to moments of kindness, connection, and giving back.

Earlier this year, our Primary students had the opportunity to visit SOS Children Village. These
experiences help students understand compassion, empathy, and the importance of supporting others.
