WORLD FOR LIBYA is a not for profit organisation which was established following the Libyan civil protests and the uprising of February 2011. Its overriding aim is to support humanitarian relief both directly as well as through third party charities. Through its unique ability to mobilise local people throughout the country, WORLD FOR LIBYA is able to not only assess the need for differen
t types of aid, but also to assist in providing the logistics for other charities – whether local or international. We believe that the need for charitable assistance in Libya is not just a short-term endeavour, but will continue for years, if not decades. The rebuilding of the country will not only involve the bricks and mortar of the schools and hospitals, but also the emotional and psychological help for the many victims (orphans, r**e victims, widows, amputees, etc). WORLD FOR LIBYA has been set up as a charity (approval pending) under the UK Charities Commission. It has been structured to ensure best practice throughout the organisation and will follow strict corporate governance oversight as well as financial controlling and accountability. Currently all the staff and workers at WORLD FOR LIBYA are providing their time on a pro-bono basis, which means that any aid given goes directly to the people in need. WORLD FOR LIBYA is a charity that has been established in response to the humanitarian crisis currently facing Libya. Our main aims are to assist the poorest and neediest individuals throughout Libya and neighbouring countries. We concentrate our efforts on the following areas:
Orphans and children
Medical aid
Refugees
People with disabilities
Education
Women and victims of r**e
Providing third parties with logistical help with any of the above
