Making his Riga debut at Soup Rave, NIKTO is thrilled to share his love of genre-bending techno and passion for soup. This event is very special to him for several reasons. First, it marks a homecoming.

NIKTO grew up in the United States and is based in California, but was originally born in Riga. Second, he has been cooking a Soup-inspired mix series over the last 3 years where he fuses the sounds of his multi-cultural background and experiences going to raves in LA, Seattle, and NY.

NIKTO is honored to open this destined night.

What does it really take to keep a youth NGO alive? 👀

This week, people gathered in Riga to stand up for stronger support for youth organisations across Latvia. 💛

Behind every workshop, community event, and safe space are people facing real challenges: unstable funding, burnout, unpaid work, and constant uncertainty.

This post shares some of the realities highlighted by Alexander Oleynikov (JASMA ) as part of the campaign, along with policy ideas that could help create a more sustainable future for youth organisations.

Youth work builds communities, creates opportunities, and strengthens democracy. It deserves recognition and long-term support.

“if not us, who?” is the project of Erasmus + program, and it is financially supported by the European Commission. Program is administered in Latvia by the International Youth Programme Agency. This publication reflects the views of the author only, and the Commission cannot be held responsible for any possible use of the information contained therein.

How left-wing artists became “formalists”

After 1917, left-wing artists very quickly—already in the early 1920s—were labelled as 'champions of bourgeois culture,' and accused of encouraging viewers to develop 'bizarre, perverted tastes.' Later, in 1931, many prominent artists were compelled to confess their 'errors' and indulge in self-criticism, and finally, those who refrained from acknowledging their 'errors' were dubbed 'formalists' in 1933.
