The European Commission has released new guidelines that clarify how tachograph provisions should be applied in freight transport. The new guidelines address practical issues that have arisen, such as registration at border crossings, driver cards and conversion deadlines. While the rules themselves remain unchanged, officials will now interpret and apply them more precisely and flexibly.

The aim is to create greater uniformity for drivers, companies and control authorities.
