Volunteers needed to distribute MLK Day food collection boxes
The Nature Coast Volunteer Center is looking for volunteers to help distribute the MLK Day of Service food collection boxes at various locations throughout the county. We would like the boxes delivered to the locations by Monday, December 15, 2025. The boxes will be ready for pickup from the Citrus County Resource Center by Friday, December 12, 2025.

If you are interested in helping, please let Kelly know via email at [email protected] and she will assign you a route. There are only a couple of boxes for each route.

Volunteers needed to set up at the Healthy Living Fair on Friday, November 7th
Citrus County Support Services is looking for volunteers to help with the Healthy Living Fair on Friday, November 7th, from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm.

The Fair will be held at the
Central Citrus Community Center
2804 W. Marc Knighton Court, Lecanto.

They are in need of four (4) volunteers to help with assisting vendors with unloading their vehicles and helping them bring their items on a cart to their booth.

Volunteers are also needed at the registration table.

She'll be so glad you called!

Support Services is one of the Volunteer Center's stations, so you can turn in your volunteer hours from this event if you participate.

Please note: the event will begin at Noon and end at 2:30 p.m.

Vendors will be unloading their vehicles by the “double doors” outside of the community center.

The Nature Coast Volunteer Center hosts Two Good Soles Socks & Shoes Drive
The Nature Coast Volunteer Center's Two Good Soles Socks & Shoes Drive is underway, and we encourage you to spread the word as we collect socks & shoes for children in Citrus County. Collection boxes have been placed around the county (click the link to see the locations flyer below).

Donations will be presented to various organizations at the 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony being held at the Central Ridge Community Center, 77 Civic Circle, Beverly Hills. You are also invited to attend this ceremony, which starts at 11:00 am.

The Nature Coast Volunteer Center will be sorting and counting donated shoes and socks on Thursday, September 11, 2025 (9:00 am) at the Central Ridge Community Center as part of the Two Good Soles Socks & Shoes Drive. The Center is located at 77 Civic Circle, Beverly Hills.

The United Way is getting ready for their fall GROW Financial Security class in September. This 11-week course is offered to ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) households.

Nature Coast Ministries needs volunteers
Nature Coast Ministries is looking for volunteers
to help in their store, located at
4546 S. Suncoast Blvd., Homosassa.

Volunteers are asked to commit to a 4-hour shift,
Monday - Friday, 10 am - 5 pm
or
Saturday, 10 am - 2 pm

Duties include sorting donated merchandise, arranging merchandise
on shelves, running a cash register,
handling money and assisting customers.

They are looking for volunteers with good customer service skills and
the ability to serve customers with respect.

Special Craft and Jewelry Sale going on now

The Friends of the Community Centers is hosting a Craft & Jewelry Sale
now through Friday, November 8th

Hours each day will be 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
at the Central Citrus Community Center
(located in the Citrus County Resource Center)
2804 W. Marc Knighton Court, Lecanto

The Craft Sale will have handmade items by members and craft supplies. Proceeds will help the Friends provide items to enhance the community centers for our seniors.

The Jewelry Sale will have new and gently used costume jewelry donated by members. Proceeds will be for the Circle of Friends Gift Shop and will be donated to the Meals on Wheels program

Let's help Citrus United Basket by donating to their Canned Food Drive

With the holidays approaching, food pantries in our community will be providing much needed items to citizens in need.

Please consider donating to Citrus United Basket (CUB) at their

Fall Drive-thru Canned Food Drive
Saturday, November 9th from 9 am - 2 pm
1201 Parkside Ave., Inverness
(across from Joe's Restraurant on Hwy. 41)

They will be accepting all non-perishable food items, and the Thrift Store will be open during this event.

Let's all join in and help CUB build their stock of canned foods this year.
