Day 1 in Cairo 🇪🇬 – “Online Youth, Offline Impact” kicks off!

What a powerful start! Today marked the opening of “Online Youth, Offline Impact” and the energy in the room was incredible.

Participants connected, shared their ideas, and quickly got into action by forming groups around topics they are passionate about. From there, the real work began: brainstorming and developing project ideas that aim to create meaningful change beyond the screen.

This is just the beginning… stay tuned for what’s coming next 👀✨

On 6–7 March, the youth conference “ARTiculate to Influence: Voices for Social Change” took place in Malta, as the concluding event of a KA1 Youth Participation Activity under Erasmus+.

For this final conference, Luxembourg was represented by 5 participants, including 2 representatives of ENAD, who joined 52 young people from different countries, artists, activists, youth workers, and decision-makers, including Malta’s Minister for Culture.

Throughout the event, participants explored important topics such as migration, discrimination, and overconsumption. The first day focused on exchanging ideas, perspectives, and experiences, while the second day created space for young people to address artists and decision-makers directly through discussions, questions, and creative contributions for social change.

We warmly thank for hosting this event, and the Erasmus+ programme, co-funded by the European Union, for making this opportunity possible.

Fragments Of Many Worlds - A Film By Phayrouz

Phayrouz AbouGarad was one of the exceptional participants of the DocuEurope project who had a professional background in filmmaking. Her previous film was based on interviews and stories told while the short documentary she created in frames of the DocuSpeech was constructed with the shots mostly taken in our project city - Esch sur Alzette, including the modern bridge, the park, National Museum of Resistance and Human Rights, The Konschthal Esch... Phayrouz's story is personal expressed with the language of cinema and with Luxembourgish images.

The film is created in frames of the training course “DocuSpeech: Filming Europe Beyond Borders (DocuEurope)” which was organized by Formation et Sensibilisation Luxembourg (FSL) and funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Commission - Luxembourgish National Agency Anefore. Youth Exchange in Cagliari 🇮🇹

This week, nearly 100 young people from 16 countries came together to explore many questions:
What are human rights? Are they truly respected? And what about digital rights in today’s world?

Among them, 5 participants from Luxembourg actively contributed—sharing ideas, exchanging perspectives, and collaborating on topics like human rights, digital rights, and sustainability.

Now, they return home not just with memories, but with a mission:
to raise awareness, and inspire change in their communities. Thanks to the host organisation for making this experience possible.

Vocational education and training (VET) is one of the strongest tools for migrant youth to enter the labour market—but access remains highly uneven across the EU. Barriers include language requirements, lack of recognition of non-formal skills, and insufficient tailored guidance. Some countries show progress, but participation among migrant youth remains significantly below native-born youth. This undermines their social and economic integration.

A Silent Crisis: Migrant Children in Early Childhood Education
While early childhood education (ECEC) has reached a high EU average of 94.6%, participation among children at risk of poverty—including many migrant and refugee families—remains significantly lower. For children under age 3, participation is only 39.3% on average, but even lower in disadvantaged communities. This is one of the biggest missed opportunities in integration: ECEC is the strongest predictor of long-term inclusion. Cost, availability, and lack of tailored support block access for migrant families.

Migrant Learners & Early School Leaving
Newly arrived migrant learners remain one of the most vulnerable groups in EU education. The 2025 Monitor shows that early school leaving among newly arrived migrants reaches 28.6%, more than triple the EU average. This gap is not caused by ability, but by structural barriers: limited language support, disrupted schooling, and difficult living conditions. Without coordinated cross-sector policies, these young people risk being left behind for life.

Recently, one participant from our organisation took part in the “Fly Me Away” Training Course, held in Châtillon-sur-Indre, France, organised by .berry.touraine.

This Erasmus+ training course brought together 24 participants from 12 different countries to strengthen partnerships, exchange ideas, and develop future youth projects. The programme focused on collaboration, intercultural learning, and planning upcoming youth exchanges in Italy and Bulgaria.

Throughout the training, participants engaged in interactive workshops, discussions, and creative activities exploring topics such as youth participation, inclusion, personal development, and the impact of Erasmus+ opportunities. They also worked together to design future projects that empower young people and encourage active participation in society.

Beyond the workshops, the experience created new friendships, cultural exchange, and meaningful connections among participants from across Europe.

We are grateful to .berry.touraine and the facilitator Altino for the warm welcome and for organising such an inspiring learning experience.

We look forward to future collaborations and projects that continue to connect young people through Erasmus+.

Municipal Innovation: The Power of Civil Society
Behind many integration stories, there are people who show up every day.
Local organisations, volunteers, and NGOs help with housing, language learning, paperwork, and navigating a new life.
Across Europe, civil society often steps in where public systems reach their limits — not to replace them, but to complement them.
This shows an important lesson:
integration isn’t delivered — it’s co-created.
Europe’s integration story is written locally, through people working together.
