The Business Idea Pitching (BIP) project is coming to address the ongoing challenge of limited access to funding for Micro and Small Enterprises in Lesotho, despite their important contribution to economic growth, innovation, and job creation.

Many businesses continue to struggle to expand due to financial constraints, while limited support from financial institutions and the absence of a development bank make it difficult for start-ups and small businesses to access loans.

In response, BIP introduces a business-expansion pitching initiative aimed at supporting active micro and small enterprises owned by individuals aged 21โ€“59 who may not qualify for traditional business competitions or formal financing opportunities.

The initiative will provide small grants with flexible and achievable requirements, allowing entrepreneurs to explain their business challenges and demonstrate how funding support can improve and grow their operations.

The Business Idea Pitching (BIP) initiative will be open to Basotho-owned businesses operating within the four priority sectors identified in the National Strategic Development Plan:

This group photo marks the beginning of an incredible journey with our 10 enterprises under the MBC Enterprise Incubation Program. Over the past months, these entrepreneurs have shown dedication, creativity, resilience, and a commitment to building sustainable businesses in Lesotho.

Through the program, the enterprises received mentorship, technical support, business development training, equipment support, and New production facilities to help strengthen and grow their operations.

In the coming days, we will be profiling each enterprise, sharing their stories, products, journeys, and the impact they are creating in their communities.

Last month, we proudly handed over a production space to BonnieCouture, a growing textile manufacturing enterprise in Mokhotlong District and soon, they will be moving into their new facility to begin this exciting next chapter.

Through our MBC Enterprise Incubation Programme (MBC-EIP), what once was just potential is now a fully functional workspace ready to support real production and growth.

Before & After: A powerful reminder that with the right support, environments and businesses can be completely transformed.

As part of this intervention, BonnieCouture received:
