💉THE GIRLS HUB PARTICIPATES IN THE LAUNCH OF THE LESOTHO CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATIONS NETWORK FOR IMMUNIZATION💉

18 June 2026

The Girls Hub was proudly represented by it's Founder and Executive Director, Reitumetse Kane, at the launch of the Lesotho Civil Society Organizations Network for Immunization, organized by the Christian Health Association of Lesotho. The launch brought together civil society organizations, government representatives, development partners, and health stakeholders committed to strengthening immunization efforts.

In her remarks, Acting Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Dr. Maama, emphasized the critical role of civil society organizations in promoting vaccine awareness, addressing misinformation, and supporting efforts to ensure that every child has access to life-saving vaccines.
Speaking on behalf of CHAL, Executive Director, 'Makatleho Mohasi explained the importance of collaboration among stakeholders and reaffirmed the commitment of civil society and health partners to advancing equitable access to immunization services across Lesotho.

As a youth-led organization dedicated to empowering girls and young women through education, mentorship, and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) programming, The Girls Hub recognizes that immunization is a cornerstone of healthy communities and improved outcomes for children and young people.
The Girls Hub is excited to be part of this collective movement and looks forward to contributing to national efforts aimed at improving immunization coverage and advancing healthier, more resilient communities.

🌻 INCLUSIVE BUDGET CONSULTATIONS IN BEREA DISTRICT 🌻

On 05 June 2026, The Girls Hub joined stakeholders from across Berea District at the Pre-Budget Consultations held at Blue Mountain Inn, providing an important platform for citizens, particularly young people, to contribute to the national budgeting process.
The consultation brought together traditional leaders, government representatives, civil society organizations, private sector actors, youth-led organizations, and community members to discuss how the national budget can better respond to the needs and aspirations of Basotho.

As young people, we emphasized that an inclusive budget should not only address immediate challenges but also invest in long-term opportunities that empower communities and drive sustainable development.
Among the key priorities raised during the discussions were:
🌻Improved road infrastructure and reliable electricity supply.
🌻 Increased access to clean water and expanded irrigation systems to support agriculture.
🌻 Greater investment in healthcare facilities and services.
🌻Improved access to higher education, vocational training, and skills development opportunities.
🌻 Support for youth entrepreneurship, innovation, and employment creation.
🌻 Strengthening partnerships with civil society organizations and community development initiatives.
🌻 Ensuring that women, youth, people with disabilities, and marginalized communities are fully included in development planning and budget allocations.

The discussions also explored how Berea's existing resources can be better utilized to stimulate economic growth, create employment opportunities, and contribute to national revenue generation.
The Girls Hub believes that meaningful youth participation is essential in building a Lesotho where no one is left behind. We commend the Ministry of Finance and Planning for creating this platform and ensuring that community voices are heard in shaping the country's development agenda.

CELEBRATING MENSTRUAL HYGIENE DAY 2026 🩸✨

This year’s Menstrual Hygiene Day theme, “Together for a ,” reminds us that creating a world where girls and women can manage menstruation safely, confidently, and with dignity requires collective action and strong partnerships.

At The Girls Hub , we believe that menstrual health is not just about hygiene products, but also about dignity, education, nutrition, access to information, and creating supportive environments where girls and young women can thrive without shame or stigma.

Through our work in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), mentorship, psychosocial support, and advocacy, we continue to create safe spaces for girls and young women to openly learn about their bodies, menstrual health, and overall well-being.

Collaborations with partners such as and UNICEF through the Youth Power Hub initiative strengthen this mission by helping us approach menstrual health more holistically. Agrivision’s work in nutrition, food security, and sustainable livelihoods strongly connects with menstrual health because good nutrition plays a critical role in the health and well-being of menstruating girls and young women. Together, these partnerships allow us to continue advocating for informed communities, healthier lifestyles, improved access to information, and inclusive spaces where girls are empowered to manage menstruation with dignity and confidence.

As we commemorate Menstrual Hygiene Day, we reaffirm our commitment to breaking stigma, promoting menstrual health education, and building communities where no girl is held back because of her period.

🌻 Meet the Team Mondays 🌻

Get to know the faces behind The Girls Hub, one story at a time.

Today the spotlight is on Mme Rori..lets hear her story🤭

"In our community, too many girls are silenced by abuse and violence. At Girls Hub, we are changing that. I am Miss Nkolanyane Rorisang and as a social worker working as a fieldwork coordinator at The Girls Hub, I help girls heal, speak up and stay safe.

Girls Hub is an organisation born out of necessity. We work in communities where the rates of violence against girls and young women including molestation, sexual assault and domestic abuse remain unacceptably high.

Our name "The Girls Hub" reflects our purpose: to be a central, safe place where girls can find help, healing and hope.

As a social worker and a survivor and advocate of gender-based violence myself, I can better understand what girls or young women are going through or went through. My role is to walk with survivors through the hardest moments. I provide psychosocial support, crisis intervention and case management. I connect girls and women to medical care and legal services but we also work on prevention through school programs, community dialogues and life-skills workshops that empower girls to know their worth and their rights.

Because safety is not just emotional, I have also been trained as a First Aider and Fire Marshal. In a crisis, whether it is a medical emergency or a fire outbreak, I am able to respond immediately, manage risk and ensure the safety of the girls in our care.

At Girls Hub, we believe every girl deserves to grow up free from fear. My job is to make that belief real."
