PRESS STATEMENT FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
FOADT Refutes Senator Pennue's Broad Daylight Lies, Unearths the Danger of Having Him as Senator, and Urges UP to Be Careful in Dealing With Such a Character
December 7, 2025, Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County โ The Friends of Aaron David Togba, a county-based political movement owned by a Senatorial Aspirant, is concerned about recent statements made by Grand Gedeh County Senator Zoe Emmanuel Pennue at the Homecoming program of the Unity Party, stating that:
- All high schools in Grand Gedeh County were built by the Unity Party.
- There was a time when a gallon of gasoline's price went to 3,000 Liberian Dollars, among other claims.
Fellow Grand Gedeans, partisans of the ruling Unity Party, members of the press, and every other member of the public: the above statements do not only misrepresent the truth, but they have also exposed how dishonest, desperate, and ungrateful Senator Pennue is.
Our contention is not to disagree with whether the Unity Party has been impactful to the people of Grand Gedeh County or not, but to bring to light the continued and unconscionable hunt for favor by Senator Pennue with every ruling partyโwhich is mostly done at the expense of the people of Grand Gedeh County.
It can be recalled that this same lawmaker, when serving then as Representative, found his way to then-President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf through the strategy of spreading falsehoods about his kinsmen. Through this, he gained the confidence of President Sirleaf and was openly supported in the 2011 general elections despite the presence of a Unity Party Representative Candidate.
The above instance is just the tip of the iceberg among the many forms of support he received from the Unity Party during those first two tenures.
If Senator Pennue is honest about the impact of the Unity Party and his current support for them, why didn't he remain with the Unity Party after its defeat in 2017? Instead, he quickly made his way to the then-ruling Coalition for Democratic Change, where he again stated numerous reasons for switching to the CDC. In 2020, he ran on the ticket of the CDC, which made him the senator he is today. If making him senator wasn't enough, can the UP be guaranteed of his stable stance with them?
The persistent sellout of Grand Gedeh County by Senator Zoe Emmanuel Pennue continues to cause irreparable damage to the status and future of our county.
There are approximately twenty high schools in Grand Gedeh County, both private and public, of which it is not recorded that the Unity Partyโboth in previous and current regimesโbuilt one. Though there have been many interventions made with respect to the renovation of public high schools and operations through government programs, the claim that all high schools were built by the Unity Party is false.
Additionally, Senator Pennue asserted that there was a time when a gallon of gasoline's price went up to three thousand Liberian Dollars (3,000 LRD). This statement is very far from the truth and tells everyone how the senator is a stranger to the county he represents, due to his fear of paying regular visits to the county over numerous allegations of negative happenings that are linked to him.
We have come to urge the Unity Party to be very careful with Senator Zoe Emmanuel Pennue, as he is a praiser of every regime, especially through trading in falsehoods.
As the adage states: "You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time."
To this, we publish!
