A group of students once faced the heavy burden of unpaid school fees, uncertain if they would ever finish their education. Each day was a struggle between hope and despair.

Then sponsors stepped in through The Faroese Children's Aid Liberia. With tuition covered, uniforms provided, and encouragement offered, the students found renewed strength. They studied very hard, burnt candles late into the nights, driven by the belief that someone believed in them.

Years passed, and the time finally came. In hats and gowns, they walked proudly across the stage, diplomas in hand. Tears of joy filled the air not just from the students, but from families, teachers, and sponsors who had witnessed the transformation.
Your support turned school fees into diplomas, and hope into achievement.
WE ARE VERY GRATEFUL!!!!!

From Despair to Determination: Elikem’s Journey:

At just 14 years old, Elikem Champ Amet nearly lost his chance at education. His parents could no longer afford his school fees, and dropping out of the 9th grade seemed inevitable.

But Elikem’s spirit refused to give up. He walked to Faroese Children’s Aid Liberia (FCAL) and asked if he could volunteer in the small library, determined to keep learning even outside the classroom. His humility and courage touched everyone at FCAL.

Inspired by his resilience, FCAL found a sponsor to support his schooling. With renewed hope, Elikem returned to class, worked tirelessly, and today he proudly celebrates his promotion to the 10th grade.

Elikem’s story reminds us that determination, effort, and hope can restore dreams once thought lost.

Together, we can ensure that more children like Elikem never have to choose between poverty and education.

During Liberia’s civil war, classrooms fell silent. Schools were destroyed, teachers fled, and thousands of children were forced to trade books for survival. Many grew up without the chance to learn, their dreams buried under the weight of conflict.

Yet even in those darkest years, the desire for education never died. Children gathered under trees, writing letters in the sand, clinging to the hope that one day peace would return.

Today, underprivileged children still carry the scars of that lost generation — but with sponsorship, they can reclaim what war stole. A single act of support provides school fees, uniforms, and safe spaces to learn. Each child sponsored is a victory over the past, a promise that war will not define their future.

“Education is the bridge from war’s silence to tomorrow’s song.”
