A SIMPLE “YES” THAT BECAME A 10-YEAR JOURNEY
In August 2016, I was simply a student who happened to visit my school campus when school was closed. I had no idea that God was about to connect me to Edify and change the direction of my life. An unexpected invitation took me to my first youth camp, where I became part of Edify’s first Discipleship Program in Liberia. I never missed a session, and after graduating in 2017, I continued serving, mentoring students, supporting discipleship clubs, Inter-school Biblical Competitions, conferences, camps, and eventually helping build an alumni network for students who had graduated from Edify partner schools.
Almost 10 years later, that journey has brought me to serving as Country Coordinator for Flourishing Godly Leaders Network Liberia, where we recently held our first Leadership Boot Camp for 80 young people from four counties. I have not done this work for money or recognition; I have done it because someone invested in me, and I believe in investing in others. There were challenges, frustrations, and moments when giving up seemed easier but I kept showing up. Looking back, I have learned that a small opportunity can become a life-changing assignment when you say yes, remain faithful, and keep showing up. What began with one unexpected “yes” became a journey of purpose, leadership, and service. I am grateful for where God has brought me and excited for where He is leading me next.
