Monrovia -May 6, 2026 -The Female Journalists Association of Liberia (FeJAL) is excited to announce an important partnership with the Merck Foundation aimed at strengthening the capacity of journalists in Liberia, with focus on health and fertility.

This collaboration includes training opportunities for over 50 men and women journalists, following discussions with Merck Foundation representatives.

We are delighted to further announce that this training will take place in partnership with H.E. Mrs. Kartumu Yarta Boakai, First Lady of the Republic of Liberia and the Female Journalists Association of Liberia (FeJAL).

Exciting Updates from CSW70‼️

Congratulations to our very own member, Williametta Jabbah, of the Liberia Broadcasting System and an assigned reporter at the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection currently in New York, participating in and covering events at the 70th UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70) March 9-19, 2026.

This vital event continuously addresses the pressing issues affecting women globally, ensuring their voices are heard and empowering communities worldwide.

In her own words, she shares:
"Covering CSW70 as a female journalist is a huge opportunity in my career. It broadens my understanding of the challenges women face around the world. This experience will help me discuss key issues such as gender equality, women empowerment, and women’s rights, especially in marginalized communities. I will also focus on sparking conversations that inspire action towards creating a more equitable society for women."

Congratulations to Ms Jabbah for elevating the voice of Liberian women and contributing to the global discourse!
