The Camp for Peace Vocational Training Institute (CFP-VTI) is in full preparation for the reopening of its vocational school in Salayea, Lofa County, scheduled for March 15, 2026. Comprehensive renovation and facility upgrades are currently underway to ensure a successful and well-organized reopening.
Our preliminary assessment indicates that CFP-VTI remains the only functional vocational training institution serving the corridor between Gbarnga, B**g County, and Voinjama, Lofa County. This places a significant responsibility on us to provide accessible, practical, and quality skills training to young people and women in the region.
At CFP-VTI, we deliver hands-on, competency-based training for individuals of all educational backgrounds, including those who have completed formal schooling and those who have never had the opportunity to attend school. Our training programs include:
🌾 Agriculture
🔨 Masonry
âš¡ Electrical Installation
🪚 Carpentry
🚰 Plumbing
🧵 Tailoring & Sewing
🧶 Weaving
These programs are designed to promote self-reliance, entrepreneurship, and sustainable livelihoods.
We use this public platform as a call to action for the national government and humanitarian and development partners whose mission supports youth and women empowerment to collaborate with us in advancing sustainable development initiatives for rural communities. Strategic partnerships and coordinated investment in vocational education are critical to reducing unemployment, strengthening local economies, and fostering long-term community resilience.

Camp for Peace Liberia is pleased to feature one of its former students, Mr. Ofantee G. Gineyan, Class of 2014. Today, Ofantee is a well-known local engineer who has taken his career to another level through dedication, discipline, and technical excellence. Based on his expertise in building construction, he has gained national recognition and continues to make a meaningful impact in his field. Nothing gives us greater satisfaction than seeing young people we once trained return to give back to their alma mater, Camp for Peace Liberia, and to witness the remarkable work they are doing to strengthen and build their comm

In this moment, one of our trainees is learning traditional weaving, a skill that not only preserves culture but also creates real economic opportunity for women and their families. For many participants, this training is more than learning a trade—it is about restoring dignity, building self-reliance, and creating a pathway toward a sustainable livelihood. This is what peace looks like in action: skills instead of dependency, hope instead of hardship, and opportunity instead of exclusion. We are grateful to our partners and supporters who continue to make this life-changing work possible in Lofa County, Liberia.
