Grateful to be recognized by the U.S. Department of State for serving as a SPECIALIST LEADER for the prestigious Community Engagement Exchange Program sponsored by the U.S. Government and administered by IREX. As a CEE Specialist Leader selected through a very competitive process, I was thrilled to further hone my leadership skills and serve as a "Mentor-of-Mentors" for fellows and specialist mentors from around the world while working with leadership coaches in providing mentorship, support, and technical expertise.

: Visited a bookstore and hotel belonging to Rollins College based in Winter Park, Florida. Imagine the possibility of institutions of higher learning in Liberia owning bookstores with souvenirs and books, as well as hotels with conference rooms, cafe shops, restaurants, swimming pools, and outdoor spaces for various ceremonies. Special appreciation to Clayton Louis Ferrara, CEO of IDEAS For Us for giving me a tour of his alma mater.

: Pleasure meeting Jeannie Economos, Coordinator, Pesticide Safety and Environmental Health Program of the Farmworker Association of Florida. Jeannie has worked for over 20 years on issues of the environment, environmental justice, indigenous and immigrants’ rights, labor, peace, and social justice. From 1996-2001, she worked for the Farmworker Association of Florida as the Lake Apopka Project Coordinator, addressing the issues of job loss, displacement, and health problems of the farmworkers who worked on the farmlands on Lake Apopka prior to the closing of the farms in 1998.

From 2007 until the present, she has been the coordinator of the organization's pesticide health and safety program, which includes annually training over 500 farmworkers in Florida on their rights and protections in the workplace and how to protect themselves and their families from pesticide exposure. She is also engaged in local, state, national, and international coalitions and collaborations related to farmworker rights and health and safety, pesticide reduction, sustainable agriculture, and food sovereignty.

She is currently co-coordinator of the Lake Apopka Farmworker Memorial Quilt Project whose purpose is to raise awareness about the impacts of pesticides on the former farmworkers on Lake Apopka.

Thank you to Clayton Louis Ferrara, CEO of IDEAS For Us for the connection.

: Great honor and privilege to attend this year's Wine Quest, Central Florida's premier wine-tasting and dining experience, hosted at the Caribe Royale Orlando. Elated to see that the community came together not just to wine and dine but to support people living with disability and children with Down syndrome and autism among other special needs. Inspired by the testimony from one of the parents and the speech delivered by the Chief Executive Officer of Quest Incorporated, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that works to transform the lives of thousands of individuals with developmental disabilities in Central Florida.

Wondering if it is possible to organize a wine-tasting and dining event to raise funds for children with disability and special needs to acquire education and skills.

Youth Exploring Solutions Inc. (Liberia) will continue to utilize the legal clinic/ assistance center established through a USAID-funded project implemented by the Institute for Democratic Action & Development -IDAD to advocate for reform in the Education Reform Act of 2011, which exempts schools from providing free and compulsory for children living with disability and special needs, and establishes a register to be made available by the custodian school to certified institutions with competence to attend to the educational needs of the disadvantaged child. Youth Exploring Solutions Inc. (Liberia) believes children with disability and special needs have the right to early childhood education.

Special appreciation to Clayton Louis Ferrara, CEO of IDEAS For Us, and Ada Reyes for this incredible opportunity.

: Truly amazing to witness Florida Gun Shows. As someone who experienced brutal and senseless civil war, guns have always been frightening. The indelible marks and horrible nightmares from the sounds of artilleries and other weapons including the struggle for food, water, and medicine, and the massive internal displacement and exodus of people.

However, the Gun Show enlightened my mind and broadened my understanding of the merits and demerits associated with manufacturing, sales, and usage of fi****ms. Firstly, in the United States of America, it is the constitutional right of the people to keep and bear arms. Secondly, America's arms industry creates jobs, improves livelihoods, increases revenues, boosts self-defense, and fulfills constitutional provisions. Finally, gun shows promote awareness, trigger creativity, and showcase innovation.

On the other hand, guns can be used to commit crimes, suppress people, manipulate society, and lead to unbearable pain and suffering. Besides, the proliferation of weapons in regions without manufacturing capability is quite worrying and terrifying. Hence, there is an urgent need to act speedily.

: Special gratitude and appreciation to Clayton Louis Ferrara, the CEO of IDEAS For Us, and Ada Reyes for providing me a typical American breakfast at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store in Winter Park, Florida. Cultural exchange does not happen in the absence of food.

Back in 2014 and 2022, when Clayton Louis Ferrara visited Liberia, he ate all the Liberian dishes including the various torborgees, GB, dumboy, fufu, cassava, palava sauce, potato greens, okra sauce, and water greens among others. Clayton Louis Ferrara loves fufu with dudu and torborgee with snails.

: Congratulations to Reggie Bur-roughs on his election as President of the Board of IDEAS For Us, a non-profit organization and Environmental Solutions Incubator engaging communities and sharing practices for a better world.

In 2022, Reggie Bur-roughs left the comfort of his home in Orlando, Florida, and set foot for the very first time on the African continent. He traveled to seven (7) counties and lived without access to pipe-borne water, constant electricity, internet connectivity, air conditioner, washing machine, dishwasher, and bonded foam mattress among others in Liberia. Having tasted the bitter swill of living in the global South, IDEAS For Us - Liberia and Youth Exploring Solutions Inc. (Liberia) believe Reggie is prepared, equipped, and ready for the tasks that lie ahead and the challenges the future holds.

Thanks to Clayton Louis Ferrara, Chief Executive Officer of IDEAS For Us for providing this life-changing adventure and memorable learning experience to Reggie and Justin Jaybird Farrow.
