University of Cambridge Mastercard Foundation Scholars Programme 2026/2027 for Young Africans (Fully Funded)

The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Programme is currently accepting applications for the 2026/2027 academic year.

This fully funded scholarship is designed for talented young Africans who want to pursue a master’s degree at the University of Cambridge and cultivate their leadership potential.

To be eligible, you must have a bachelor's degree that meets the academic requirements of your chosen master's course.

You must also be a citizen and resident of an African country, though temporary residency outside of Africa for work or study is allowed.

The program is open to full-time master's degrees, but it does not cover the Master of Accountancy (MACC), Business Administration (MBA), Master of Corporate Law (MCL), or Master of Finance (MFIN).

A key requirement is demonstrating a commitment to giving back to your community and contributing to sustainable, climate-resilient futures for Africa.

If you are selected, the scholarship covers all course fees, a monthly living allowance, and a round-trip economy flight to the UK.

It also pays for your visa application and the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS).

Beyond financial support, scholars receive a pre-sessional induction, leadership training, assistance with securing a 3-6 month placement in a leading African organization, and access to the alumni networks of both the University of Cambridge and the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Programme.

The application deadline is January 2026.
