April 22 went beyond Earth Day; it reflected the people already driving real climate action on the ground.

Assistant Country Director Shamella E. Matthews was present at the UNDP Liberia Youth Dialogue in a space where young people spoke clearly about the climate realities they face and the future they are determined to build.

No filters. No delay. Just honest conversations on climate action, Civil engagement, innovation, and inclusion, led by those living the impact and shaping the solutions.

Earth Day came and went, but the message stayed the same: the work for a more sustainable Liberia is already in motion, and youth are at the center of it.

As we conclude the 3-day Blue Impact Seminar 2.1, we proudly recognize Melchisedek Owusu Sekyere from Ghana 🇬🇭, representing Legends Hub and a valued partner to Blue Liberia. He serves as Chief Servant at Legends Hub, a Youth Ambassador for the Ghana Grows Project, an AfCFTA Independent Research Fellow, and an SDG Advocate. During the seminar, he delivered an insightful session on “Waste Sorting & Beach Cleanup Protocols (UNEP Standards)”, equipping participants with practical, globally aligned approaches to effective waste management and structured beach cleanup efforts. His contribution added great value to the training and strengthened our shared commitment to sustainable environmental action.

New week just dropped, did you hear that? 💙

The ocean whispered: “less plastic.”
The streets replied: “say no more.”
Blue Liberia said: “we’re already on it.”

This week, we move a little different, cleaner, smarter, louder.
If you see us outside… just know something good is happening

Stay strange. Stay impactful.
