LIBERIA’S JUSTICE SYSTEM IS BROKEN.
71% of prisoners are locked up without trial.
Some have been held for 5 YEARS or more—often for crimes they did not commit.
❌ Wrongful arrests are common.
❌ Investigations are poorly conducted.
❌ Judges are underqualified or overwhelmed.
Lawyers are underpaid or absent.
Monrovia Central Prison:

Built for 374 inmates

Holds 1,600+ (400% over capacity)
Human beings are crammed into inhumane conditions with little access to justice.

Justice delayed is justice denied.
Thousands of Liberians are trapped, forgotten, and punished by a failing system.
This is not justice. This is abuse.
Human rights groups warn: Liberia is facing a national justice crisis.
