Strengthening coordination and partnership.

Today, our team at Action Network visited the Montserrado County Health Team (MCHT), aimed at strengthening coordination and partnership with the Ministry of Health, Republic of Liberia.

As partner in the development of Liberia's Health sector, it's essential to build and maintain strong partnership with those given the responsibility to monitor and supervise health programs especially at the Counties level.

Thanks to the Mental Health Unit team at the Ministry headed by Moses Ziah II for making this possible.

Community Action Network begins implementation of phase two (2) of the "Strong Family Program", in barnesville, Bewhien Community.

Community Action Network Inc with support from the UNODC - United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime through the Ministry of Health, Republic of Liberia has begun training of more than ten (10) families under the "Strong Family Program", a program designed to help families build strong resilient to enable them navigate through life challenges experience on a daily basis especially for low income families.

The training which focused on enhancing participants knowledge in understanding stressful situations of both parents and children was highly interactive with participants to reflecting and sharing their own moments of stress they have experienced as families that often times them emotionally broken and stressful.

Participants further expressed gratitude for being selected to form part of such a training helping them gain knowledge that would shift them from previous ways of dealing with stressful situations while building more stronger bond between parents and children.

Action Network over the weekend honored an invitation from Global Action for Sustainable Development-GASD to form part of the official lunch of the community Participation Program to Strengthen Drug Demand Reduction Intervention in Liberia.

The program which is part of the institution many strategies and efforts to increase awareness on drug reduction and prevention showed case the institution commitment towards the fight against drug abuse across the country.

We thanked GASD for the recognition and partnership in promoting a drug free Liberia.

Continuation of the strong family program training.

On Saturday, February 28, 2026, Community Action Network Inc. completed phase two of the "Strong Family Program training that brought caregivers and children together, with laughter and curiosity filling the room. They played games, shared stories, learned to communicate better, and build resilient during difficult times while maintaining stronger bonds as a family.

During the training session, one of the caregivers hugged her child, tears in her eyes after listening to some of the issues children go through daily that may lead to stressful situations, "I never knew they felt this way." A dad learned to listen more. As they left, hand in hand, smiles said it all: stronger family bonds were forming 🌟.

Thanks to the Ministry of Health through the Mental Health Unit for the support and coordination and to our volunteers for the sacrifices and efforts in ensuring that the strong family program training objectives are achieve.

Community Action Network Inc begin rollout of a three weeks training session under the FAMILY PROGRAM an initiative supported by the Liberia office.

Community Action Network Inc in partnership with the Ministry of Health, Republic of Liberia through the Mental Health Unit on Saturday concluded first session of the three weeks session as designed under the Strong Family Program with session one focusing on Caregivers learning new ways and approach to deal with stressful situations while showing love to their children during difficult moments.

The Strong Family program, a global initiative led by the UNODC - United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime , is intended to support families navigate through challenges and difficult times while learning how to manage stress and build on existing strength in low resources areas or regions affected by conflict.

The Program has seen widespread adoption across several countries including, Cambodia, Indonesia, Libya, Burkina Faso, United States, Canada and now Liberia and has proven to be positive and impactful.

We thank the of Health for the partnership and coordination during the first session as we looked forward to completing the remaining sessions in the coming days.
