Prevent cervical cancer and get vaccinated with the Human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine.

The Ministry of Health and its partners will on November 17-21, 2025 administer the HPV vaccine across Liberia.

Girls ages 9-18 years are strongly encouraged to visit the nearest health facility or designated vaccination site within their area to get vaccinated against cervical cancer.

Globally, cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer in women, with around 660 000 new cases in 2022. In the same year, about 94% of the 350 000 deaths caused by cervical cancer occurred in low- and middle-income countries. The highest rates of cervical cancer incidence and mortality are in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA), Central America, and South-East Asia.

Get vaccinated and prevent womb cancer!

Happy International One Health Day!

One Health Day is observed annually on 3 November to raise global awareness about the importance of One Health collaborations.

One Health Day answers the urgent need for a One Health transdisciplinary approach towards solving today’s critical global health challenges. It is a timely initiative that gives scientists and advocates a powerful voice for moving beyond current provincial approaches to emerging infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, climate change, environmental pollution, and many other problems, to a holistic default way of doing business.

The day raises awareness about the One Health approach, which involves cooperation between human, animal, and environmental health sectors to address issues like zoonotic diseases, food safety, and climate change.

In Liberia, One Health in Action Liberia continues to champion this cause through advocacy, awareness, and capacity building promoting the integration of One Health principles in schools, communities, and institutions.

Happy birthday to our One Health Club Mentor, Whyneta M. Lablah. All the best, Whyneta!
