LDEA Sinoe County Seizes Huge Consignment of Narcotics

Monrovia, Liberia – June 17, 2025

The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA), Sinoe County Detachment, in collaboration with joint security forces, has seized a significant quantity of narcotic substances in Saybilah Town. The confiscated drugs are now in the custody of the LDEA.

On Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at approximately 5:30 PM, officers of the LDEA, supported by the Liberia National Police (CSD and ERU) and the Liberia Immigration Service (Border Patrol Unit), executed a search and seizure operation at the residence of Mr. Dennis W. Kylee, a 45-year-old Liberian national.

During the operation, authorities discovered a substantial cache of illicit substances in Mr. Kylee’s possession. The confiscated items included:
Co***ne: 274.3 grams
Street Value: USD $1,296.00 / LRD $259,200.00
Kush: 52.1 grams
Street Value: USD $1,024.00 / LRD $208,400.00
Mr. Kylee was immediately arrested and formally charged with possession and sale of narcotic substances. He has been forwarded to court for prosecution and is expected to face a speedy trial.

LDEA RIVER GEE COUNTY DETACHMENT ARRESTS SUSPECT WITH ILLEGAL DRUGS AT WEBBO CHECKPOINT

On May 15, 2025, officers of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) assigned at the River Gee County Detachment arrested 22-year-old Matharline Doe, a Liberian national and resident of Maryland County, at the Webbo Checkpoint for possession of illegal narcotics.

Items seized from the suspect include:
• 470 wraps of ma*****na
• Half plastic of assorted ma*****na
• 7 scripts of Tramadol

The total estimated street value of the seized substances is approximately LRD 67,640, or USD $356.00.

Suspect Matharline Doe has been turned over to the Investigation Section for further questioning and will be forwarded to court for trial in accordance with due legal process.

LDEA Nimba County Operation Yields Major Drug and Weapon Seizure in Sanniquellie

Sanniquellie, Nimba County – April 16, 2025 – At approximately 4:00 PM on Wednesday, April 16, a team of Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) officers, led by the Nimba County Chief of Operations in collaboration with the Sanniquellie Magisterial Court Sheriff, executed a court-issued writ of search and seizure in the Gamahgbein Community.

During the operation, suspect Abu Konneh, a 53-year-old Liberian national, was apprehended with the following illegal items in his possession, 164 wraps of Ma*****na, 10 scripts and 4 pills of Tramadol, One short single-barrel gun and Four rounds of ammunition.

The estimated street value of the confiscated narcotics is LRD $53,600.

The suspect is currently undergoing investigation at the Charge of Quarters in Sanniquellie and will be formally charged and forwarded to court in accordance with the law.

The LDEA reaffirms its commitment to the ongoing fight against illicit drug trafficking and criminal activities in Liberia.

LDEA Intercepts Major Tramadol Smuggling Attempt at Bo Waterside Port of Entry.

Bo Waterside, Liberia – April 18, 2025:
At approximately 11:00 AM, LDEA officers stationed at the Bo Waterside Port of Entry apprehended Mohammed Sangare, a 23-year-old Liberian national and resident of the Stephen Tolbert Estate in Monrovia, in connection with a significant smuggling attempt.

Sangare, the driver of a white mini bus with plate number AM 6206, was traveling from the Madina Market parking area in Conakry, Guinea. Upon attempting to cross into Liberia, he was subjected to a routine search by LDEA personnel.

During a thorough examination of his goods, agents discovered 583 packs—equivalent to 58,300 pills—of Tramadol. The street value of the intercepted drugs is estimated at LD$11,660,000 or USD $61,368.

In accordance with protocol, the seized drugs have been officially turned over to the Liberia Medicines and Health Products Regulatory Authority (LMHRA).

As the act constitutes a transnational drug trafficking offense, suspect Mohammed Sangare remains in LDEA custody. He will undergo further investigation and be subsequently charged and forwarded to court for prosecution.

The LDEA remains committed to protecting Liberia’s borders and combating the illegal drug trade.

LDEA Sinoe County Arrests Woman with High-Grade Ma*****na In Sinoe County.

April 8, 2025

Sinoe County Detachment – LDEA

The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) Sinoe County Detachment has arrested a female suspect for illegal possession of high-grade ma*****na.

At approximately 7:00 AM on April 8, 2025, suspect Catherine Borteh, a 40-year-old Liberian national residing in Borteh Town, District #1, Sinoe County, was apprehended during a planned operation executed by the General Commander and his team of officers.

Suspect Borteh was apprehended with 3½ plates of high-grade ma*****na. Estimated Street Value USD $350.00 or LRD 66,500.00

Following her arrest, suspect Borteh was investigated and formally charged with the possession and sale of illegal substances. She has since been forwarded to court for prosecution in line with the laws of the Republic of Liberia.

LDEA B**g County Detachment

The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) B**g County Detachment, through a collaborative effort with the Liberia National Police (LNP), announces the arrest of a suspect in connection with the possession of illicit drugs.

Suspect Elijah Kollah, 22 years old, a Liberian national and a resident of Monrovia was apprehended.

on April 8, 2025, at approximately 2:00 PM, Elijah Kollah was apprehended by a team of LNP officers, led by the Chief of Operations in B**g County, at the parking station in Totota City while en route to Sanayea District. Following the arrest, the suspect was officially turned over to the LDEA on April 10, 2025 for further investigation.

Seven (7) packs of Tramadol was confiscated, estimated Street Value USD $350.00 or LRD $66,500.00

Following the investigation, suspect Elijah Kollah has been charged and will be forwarded to court for prosecution in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Liberia.

The LDEA remains vigilant and committed to fighting drug trafficking and abuse throughout the country.

Successful Drug Seizure and Arrest in Japuken Town, Sinoe County.

Sinoe County, Liberia – The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) Sinoe County Detachment reports the successful ex*****on of a search and seizure operation on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at approximately 7:00 AM.

A team of LDEA officers executed a writ of search and seizure warrant at the residence of Joseph Stalwart, a 45-year-old Liberian national, in Japuken Town, Sinoe County. Mr. Stalwart was suspected of involvement in the sale and distribution of illegal substances.

During the search, the team discovered a quarter plate of high-grade ma*****na with a street value of $75.00 USD (approximately $14,250.00 LRD). Following the discovery, Mr. Stalwart was arrested and transported to Greenville for investigation.

After a thorough investigation, Mr. Stalwart was charged with illegal possession and sale of narcotic substances in violation of Section 14:85 of the Amended Drug Law of the Republic of Liberia. He has since been forwarded to court for a speedy trial.

The LDEA remains committed to enforcing Liberia’s drug laws and protecting the public from the dangers of illegal substances.
