🌍 Regional Dialogue on Peace and Security (April 6–10, 2026)

The Civil Society Human Rights Advocacy Platform participated in a regional dialogue on peace and security organized by Transitional Justice, with support from OHCHR.

Held across Maryland, Grand Kru, and River Gee Counties, the initiative featured radio talk shows to enhance public awareness and engagement. It brought together local authorities and community members to promote peacebuilding, security, and collaboration.

The Civil Society Human Rights Advocacy Platform proudly served as a facilitator, supporting inclusive and meaningful discussions.

Esther Effie Crayton
Liberian girls’ rights advocate and Bachelor of Science graduate in Biology (Chemistry emphasis) from United Methodist University.
With over five years of volunteering at Girls Health Alliance, she’s held key leadership roles including Communication Assistant, Project Coordinator, Program Manager, and Deputy Director for Program and Administration. Esther has led initiatives on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR)—such as comprehensive sexuality education, menstrual hygiene management, and gender equality—in high schools and communities across and beyond Montserrado County.
Driven by commitment, sacrifice, and resilience, Esther envision a society where every girl has access to knowledge, rights, and healthcare she deserves to empower her make informed decisions about her body, fostering a just, healthy, and equitable world for all women and girls.

Tometta T. Elliott is a dedicated Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Champion in Monrovia, Liberia. Leveraging her public health expertise to empower underserved communities through advocacy, education, and data-driven initiatives.
As an SRHR Champion, she led the development and launch of the SRHR Policy Tracker—now used by three organizations—facilitated community dialogues and awareness campaigns, established five active SRHR clubs in Central Monrovia schools, and tracked over 500 public discussions to shape advocacy strategies.
Her broader impact spans human rights and health: At Alliance for Peace, Justice and Human Rights, she educated students on violence prevention, supported women's dialogues on transitional justice, and raised climate justice awareness. As Tuberculosis/HIV M&E Officer at Partners In Health, she boosted patient visitations by 20% via innovative trackers and data analysis.
Earlier, as IDSR Intern, she enhanced disease surveillance and community reporting.
Passionate about social justice, Tometta excels in project management, community engagement, and M&E, collaborating with NGOs, government, and stakeholders to drive healthier, more equitable outcomes.

Bendu S. Siryon is the Executive Director of United Sisters Network of Liberia Inc., where she champions SRHR for marginalized adolescent girls and young women across Liberia. Her organization empowers female athletes through economic life skills training, access to SRHR services, and capacity building in basic human rights. Operating in Montserrado, Grand Bassa, and Nimba Counties, she ensures health services reach these communities. Ida Nowaii Kaiser is a dedicated SRHR champion serving as Chairperson of the Amplifying Rights Network (ARN) and Executive Director of the Rural Women and Girls’ Rights Foundation (RWGRF), a women-led organization focused on women's political participation, economic empowerment, SRHR awareness, and GBV advocacy across Liberia (B**g, Nimba, and Margibi counties) and rural Liberian-Ivorian border communities in Ivory Coast.

Her key SRHR contributions include grassroots sensitization programs educating rural women and girls on menstrual health, family planning, consent, STD prevention, and safe managed medical abortions; robust GBV interventions through reporting mechanisms, survivor-centered support, and referral pathways at RWGRF's headquarters; linking communities to family planning and contraceptive services via health facility partnerships; and collaboration with Kenya's MAMA Network for safe abortion awareness via the MAMA Sofia app, hotlines, trainings, and medication provision (Misoprostol and Mifepristone).

Bindu Patience Butler is a passionate public, advocacy and program, management professional with over serval years of experience championing the rights of women and girls with disabilities, as well as other marginalized communities, in Liberia. Her work is rooted in inclusive development, gender equality, social accountability, and evidence based advocacy that drives meaningful policy change and transforms lives.

Throughout her career, Bindu has taken on key leadership and coordination roles with organizations such as the Inclusive Development Initiative (IDI) and the Liberia Election Observation Network (LEON). Through these platforms, she has led and supported impactful programs funded by partners including USAID, the Swedish Government, RFSU, and EDC.

Her expertise spans program design and implementation, monitoring and evaluation, donor reporting, capacity building, and stakeholder engagement. She has contributed to initiatives that promote sexual and reproductive health and rights, youth empowerment, inclusive education, and disability, inclusive electoral processes, ensuring that no one is left behind.

Miatta Garmai Darwolor is a Liberian development expert, Financial Analyst, and gender advocate with over Seventeen years of experience in policy engagement, community mobilization, and regional advocacy across Liberia and West Africa. She is the Founder and Executive Director of Sister Aid Liberia, leading initiatives that advance women’s leadership, youth empowerment, and inclusive socio-economic development.

Miatta works at the intersection of policy and practice, engaging the Liberian Legislature and key stakeholders to influence gender-responsive laws and frameworks. She has contributed to national advocacy efforts, including the passage of the Domestic Violence Act, the revised Public Health Bill while ensuring that community voices particularly those of women and girls inform decision-making processes.

At the regional level, she served as the Regional President of the ECOWAS Young Women Leaders Network, promoting cross-border collaboration and amplifying women’s participation in governance, promoting Peace Building, supporting young women leadership. Her work is distinguished by the integration of financial analysis, evidence-based planning, and strategic advocacy to drive sustainable and inclusive development outcomes.

Esther S. D. Yango is a Liberian women’s rights advocate and the Executive Director of the Women NGOs Secretariat of Liberia (WONGOSOL), the national umbrella organization coordinating over 250 women-led organizations across all 15 counties. Her journey with WONGOSOL began as a volunteer working closely with grassroots women’s groups before rising to lead one of Liberia’s most influential women’s networks. Prior to her ascendancy as Executive Director, she served as the Membership Coordinator for WONGOSOL.

Esther has been actively engaged in advancing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), including advocacy to end Female Ge***al Mutilation (FGM), strengthening responses to gender-based violence and survivor support, and promoting access to accurate SRHR information for women, youth, and marginalized communities. She works to ensure that rural women and adolescent girls are empowered to participate in decisions affecting their health, rights, and futures, while strengthening national and regional collaboration among women’s rights movements.

Brenda Brewer Moore is the Founder and Executive Director of the Kids’ Educational Engagement Project (KEEP), a Liberian nonprofit transforming access to literacy in a country where fewer than 15% of schools have libraries. A long‑standing advocate for sexual and reproductive health and rights, she champions body autonomy through her two books Free to Be Me and My Body, My Treasure, empowering children- especially girls-to understand consent, safety, and self-worth.

Beyond literacy, Brenda has been a leading voice against violence and sexual abuse, publishing widely read articles and producing two films, Stolen Childhood and The Fight, to confront r**e culture and amplify survivor-centered advocacy. She is the author of seven children’s books, a social blogger, and a 2020 National Literacy Award recipient. With an Executive MBA and 23 years of HR leadership, she blends strategic rigor with community-driven activism.
