The Tragedy of Needing Yet Underprivileged:
A Great And Suffering Child With Consciousness, Focus, And Aspiration But No Attention
A Story Told By The
His name was Yanquoi, a young boy whose innocence carried the quiet weight of struggle. Growing up along dusty roads and in a community shaped by unfinished hopes, he learned early that needing support does not always guarantee receiving it.
Yanquoi was fully conscious of his world. He noticed the mornings when his friends walked to school while he stayed behind to help his mother at their pepper cala and dried rice market. He understood the burn of hunger yet still forced a smile to comfort his younger siblings, older niblings, and loving mother about a transitioning results at the end of the tunnel. He knew how to ask - but he also knew the pain of being overlooked.
Each day, he sat by the old bench, watching life hurry past him. Cars rushed by, children held in calmed hands of their parents, father asking his kids if they would still need more food, people moved with purpose - yet none of them truly saw him. He became one more shadow in a place filled with noise, present but unnoticed.
Still, his spirit refused to break.
Yanquoi kept dreaming, even when opportunities were scarce.
He kept hoping, even when help seemed distant.
And he kept believing that one day someone would pay attention—not out of sympathy, but out of sincere humanity.
His story stands as a mirror to the experiences of many children who are conscious of their realities but denied the attention, support, and dignity they deserve. They feel everything, yet receive so little. They endure, hope, and wait for someone to see beyond their silence.
By telling Yanquoi’s story, we refuse to let him - and every child like him—remain invisible.
