🤱 World Breastfeeding Week is here.

Every year in August, we celebrate how breastfeeding is the foundation for a healthy, happy future for babies and moms.

WHO, UNICEF, and partners around the world are working to support mothers on their breastfeeding journey.

Every mother deserves access to:

🔹 Good information
🔹 Skilled help
🔹 Environments that make breastfeeding easier

At home, work, or in healthcare settings.

💡 Supporting breastfeeding isn’t just the right thing to do; it’s good for society:

🔹 Reducing healthcare costs
🔹 Boosting kids’ brain development
🔹 Strengthening economies.
🔹 We all can help!

👨‍👨‍👧‍👦 Families, friends, employers, and communities play a vital role in creating welcoming spaces for breastfeeding.

Let’s spread awareness, advocate for supportive policies, and cheer on moms everywhere.

🤗 Together, we can give every baby the best start in life.

Happy World Menstrual Hygiene Day 🩸
Vital-care Partners celebrated World Menstrual Hygiene Day with a workshop on Menstrual Health and Hygiene, with students in the Rock Hill community, Paynesville City.
Themed: "No Shame In The Flow"
With the help of our supporters, we were able to serve over 60 school-going girls with menstrual hygiene products.
An insightful moment it was for the young girls and us as well.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to making this day a success.
May the Lord bless you, as you have blessed these kids.
We're grateful🙏??

🩸 It’s just a period, not a punishment!
Today, on World Menstrual Hygiene Day, we break the silence, end the stigma, and stand for dignity and access for all who menstruate.
Let’s raise awareness, promote education, and ensure menstrual products are never a luxury but a right.

👓 Did you know that ‘shortsightedness’ or ‘nearsightedness’ are other names for myopia? They mean that a person can see clearly up close, but not well far away.

Myopia is becoming more common in young children. If a parent has myopia, their children are more likely to develop it too.

📚 Near activities are ones that involve looking at things close up, like reading a book or using a smartphone. Lots of time on these things can increase myopia risk.

Here are some common myopia symptoms:

🔹 Difficulty seeing things across the room and far away.
🔹 Eye rubbing, squinting or closing one eye to see.
🔹 Sitting too close to the TV or holding a book too close.
🔹 Sore or tired eyes.

These tips can help you prevent developing myopia:

🏞️ Spending time outdoors.
📱 Holding a book or device at least 30cm from eyes.
💡 Implementing 20-20-20 rule. Take a 20 second break to view something 20 feet away every 20 minutes of doing near activities.

Regular eye exams are important! Have you already booked yours?

Did you know?
Millions of people live with asthma and yet, many of them don’t know it. It is one of the most common conditions among children. Unfortunately, it is also unknown, underdiagnosed and undertreated.

🫁 Asthma is a chronic condition and affects the airways in our lungs. People who have asthma have particularly sensitive airways and they can become narrowed from time to time.

When the airways become narrow, symptoms start:

❤️‍🩹Cough
❤️‍🩹Difficulty breathing
❤️‍🩹Wheezing

The symptoms are not there all the time, they come and go, but are often worse at night or during exercise.

Asthma can be triggered by many different things, for example:

🔹 Cigarette smoke
🔹 Air pollution
🔹 Dust
🔹 Animal fur
🔹 Respiratory infections
🔹 Grass pollen

Even though there is no cure for asthma, for children, the condition often gets better as they get older. It’s important to try to avoid the triggers, but it’s not always possible.

If you or your loved ones are experiencing symptoms, make sure to see your healthcare professional. They can make the diagnosis, prescribe treatment and provide you with an action plan to manage the condition successfully.

🙌🏽 Today is World Hand Hygiene Day.

❓ Did you know…

Healthcare-associated infections are one of the most common problems in healthcare, affecting about 1 in 10 patients on average.

🙌 Hand hygiene is a simple yet powerful way to prevent infections—stopping up to 50% of avoidable infections during healthcare.

Simple tips include:

🧼 Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
🖐️ Use alcohol-based hand rubs if water isn’t available.
🧤 Don’t rely on gloves alone—clean hands before and after glove use.
🍽️ Wash hands before eating and after using the restroom.
🏥 Poor hand hygiene leads to longer hospital stays, higher treatment costs, and avoidable deaths.
📢 Everyone has the right to safe care—stay informed and speak up for hand hygiene.

Clean hands save lives.
