In Liberia, many schools do not have access to drinking water. This situation forces students and teachers to travel long distances to stock up on water, often unfit for consumption, or to buy bottled water, which is expensive and insufficient to meet their daily needs.
The lack of drinking water in schools exposes children to high risks of water diseases such as diarrhoea, cholera, skin infections, etc., and also compromises basic hygiene practises, in particular hand washing, toilet maintenance and water supply for the daily needs of the establishment.
Faced with this health emergency, Dogore Help Liberia is launching a project to build a drinking water pump in a primary school in the city of Monrovia to contribute to the improvement of children's health and hygiene conditions.
