The Senwah Against Drugs Foundation is joining forces with local NGOs, mothers, and young people affected by addiction to send a strong message to the government—we are ready to confront the issue of illicit drugs in Liberia.

This march is not just a one-day event. We understand that drug abuse cannot be fully eradicated, but it can be greatly reduced through consistent and united efforts.

Let us stay committed to this fight beyond today. Join us as we march to the Capitol Building to make history and push for a drug-free Liberia.

As the world marks International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Senwah Against Drugs Foundation stands in solidarity with communities across Liberia and beyond in raising awareness about the devastating impact of substance abuse. This day reminds us of the urgent need to protect our youth, support those in recovery, and push for a society where every citizen can live free from the grip of drugs.

At Senwah Against Drugs Foundation , our work goes beyond awareness—we are committed to outreach, counseling, and rehabilitation. We believe that with the right support, anyone can rise above addiction and rewrite their story. Through weekly community engagements, we listen, we educate, and we remind those battling addiction that they are not alone.

Today, we renew our call for collective action. We urge families, leaders, and institutions to join hands in building a drug-free Liberia. Let this day not just be a date on the calendar, but a call to compassion, accountability, and lasting change.

Beware of Dangerous Drugs Disguised as Candy

A new and dangerous drug, known as Strawberry Quick or Strawberry M**h, is being distributed in schools, disguised as colorful, sweet-smelling candy. This drug, a form of crystal m**h, comes in flavors like strawberry, chocolate, cola, and grape. It is being given to unsuspecting children, who mistake it for real candy, leading to severe health emergencies. Parents must be extra vigilant and educate their children about the dangers of accepting candy from strangers or even friends who may unknowingly receive it.

Children should be instructed never to accept or eat candy that looks unusual or has a strong fruity smell. If they come across such substances, they must report them to a teacher or principal immediately. Parents, teachers, and community members must work together to raise awareness and prevent this dangerous drug from harming innocent lives. Please share this message widely to protect our children.

Senwah Against Drugs Foundation is here to help minimize illicit drugs in our dearest country. 🇱🇷💔🚭❌

Senwah Against Drugs Foundation Reminding the Office of the President

Your Excellency, President Joseph Nyumah Boakai, I extend my warm greetings and best wishes to your honorable office. As the CEO of the Senwah Against Drugs Foundation, I respectfully remind you of your campaign promise to prioritize the fight against illicit drugs, particularly the devastating impact of Kush on Liberia’s youth and communities.

During your campaign, you acknowledged that Liberia’s drug crisis is a national emergency and pledged decisive action. However, we are yet to see tangible measures from the Executive to enhance the capacity of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) through increased budgetary allocations, better logistics, and comprehensive support. These resources are critical for the agency to effectively address drug trafficking and abuse.

Liberia’s porous borders and insufficient enforcement mechanisms continue to exacerbate the problem, enabling the proliferation of illicit drugs. Strengthening border controls and adequately equipping the LDEA with the necessary tools and manpower is essential to curb this growing crisis.

As we approach the next fiscal cycle, I urge your administration to prioritize this national emergency by allocating sufficient resources for drug enforcement and rehabilitation. Addressing this issue requires both immediate action and long-term strategies to restore hope to affected families and communities.

Your Excellency, the fight against illicit drugs is not merely a campaign issue—it is a national duty. We trust your leadership to honor your commitment by spearheading bold and decisive interventions that reflect your vision for a drug-free Liberia.

The Senwah Against Drugs Foundation remains a willing and dedicated partner in this endeavor. Together, we can rescue Liberia’s youth and ensure a brighter, healthier future for our nation.

Respectfully,
T. Adama Senwah, Jr.
CEO, Senwah Against Drugs Foundation

There are three things in life that don’t care about wealth, nationality, or religious background. They are:

Time: It doesn’t care who you are; it keeps moving forward.

Death: It doesn’t consider your status; when it comes, you have to go.

Truth: It remains the same, no matter who you are.

The Senwah Against Drugs Foundation will continue to operate as an NGO, dedicated to ensuring that our brothers and sisters are saved from the grip of the enemy (drug smugglers).

To those who may feel rejected, abandoned, or unimportant in society—remember, the people who undervalued you yesterday may soon remove the "less" from "less important" and recognize your true worth. However, this transformation begins with your decision to not return to the destructive habits that kept pulling you back.

Here are a few individuals who have survived drug addiction and turned their lives around:1. Robert Downey Jr.

-Brief History: Robert Downey Jr. is one of Hollywood’s most famous actors, but his career almost ended due to severe drug addiction. He began using drugs at a young age and was arrested multiple times for drug-related charges. His addiction led to both professional and personal struggles, including time in jail. In the early 2000s, he made a remarkable comeback, getting clean and landing the role of Tony Stark/Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which re-established his career.

-Brief History: Demi Lovato, a renowned singer and actress, has openly shared her struggles with addiction to drugs and alcohol, as well as her battles with mental health issues. Despite multiple relapses, she continues to work toward recovery and uses her platform to raise awareness about addiction and mental health, becoming an advocate for those facing similar challenges.

-Brief History: Eminem (Marshall Mathers), the iconic rapper, faced a severe prescription drug addiction in the early 2000s. His dependence on pills like Vicodin and Va**um almost cost him his life after a near-fatal overdose in 2007. Since 2008, Eminem has been clean, attributing his recovery to therapy, determination, and the support of his family. His music often reflects his journey to sobriety.

-Brief History: The legendary musician Elton John struggled with a long-term addiction to co***ne and alcohol during the height of his career. His drug use nearly cost him his life and important relationships. He has been sober since the 1990s, thanks to the support of loved ones. Today, he is a strong advocate for addiction recovery and runs the Elton John AIDS Foundation, using his influence to help others battling addiction.

These individuals’ stories prove that recovery is possible, and many have used their personal experiences to inspire others to seek help.
