World Refugee Day, today June 20, 2025, is being observed under the theme “SOLIDARITY”. The World Health Organization(WHO) has made a call for urgent action to strengthen inclusive resilient health systems that would “leave no one behind” because when protracted displacement rises, many affected people fleeing conflicts and disasters spend over a decade awaiting legal recognition.

In like manner, the Liberia Returnee Network(LRN) and Yeinsuon Foundation(YEF), have placed due focus on the refugee-returnee orphans in Global Village, Zota District, B**g County, Liberia and the remaining refugee children and orphans who are still languishing in the various destabilized refugee camps within the sub region for their support for a life-changing sustainable future.

Today, LRN & YEF gave a special recognition of respect to Mr. Wilson K. Vai, the vibrant visionary for the establishment of the above mentioned refugee-returnee settlement, Global Village, for his selfless and countless efforts in safeguarding and maintaining the refugee-returnee orphans entrusted to his care, Mr Vai, we salute you!!

LRN stands in solidarity with the World for the saddened transition of its religious leader, His Holiness Pope Francis(Born Jorge Mario Bergoglio in Buenos Aires on December 17, 1936…), who rose to the position of the Head of the Catholic Church and Sovereign of the Vatican City State from the 13th of March 2023 until his death today, April 21, 2025 at the age of 88 years, after battling a chronic lower respiratory disorder, pneumonia…

His Holiness, Pope Francis’ mindset toward humanity was overwhelming; he was an outstanding figure in the service to humanity and advocacy for Peace and the poor, he never felt weary caring for the needy—his selfless plea with the 2 waring factions in Southern Sudan, captured the hearts of many the world over when he gracefully implored the method of the kissing of the feet of the faction leaders, begging them to put an end to the killing of innocent souls—-this solemn initiative signified an unflinching love for Africans—meaning, His Holiness was no respecter of persons, nor a racist….

It is from this standpoint that LRN concerns herself and dedicates her page to the exceptional and fond memory of the well-lived-life of His Holiness, Pope Francis…

Upon his ascension to the post of the highest spiritual leader of the world, he petitioned that no one should spend unnecessarily against travel allowances just to grace his inaugural ceremony, but rather to divert those funds to caring for people in need….

His Holiness was a great leader whose compassion and commitment to peace touched countless lives…His legacy of humility and interfaith unity will be revered worldwide…

LRN will, with all her strength and given resources, endeavor to remain steadfast and true to Her core values and mission as with His Holiness!!

Today, March 20, 2025, the management and authorities of the Liberia Returnee Network, rejoices with Pastor Wilson K. Vai, who graduated with Summa Cum Laude from the United Methodist University, Gbarnga School of Theology…

Pastor Vai is like any other Liberian who ran for his life during the bloody civil crisis but he did not allow his refugee status to define him.

Bro Vai, when no one sees you as the leader that you are, God sees it we at LRN knew it from the onset of our partnership with your visionary establishment at Global Village.

Congratulations, pastor Wilson K. Vai!! You have made us proud today (and as always) as returnees, that we are wasted years as we have been tagged and wrongly perceived to be but we are the Nehemiahs of Liberia!!! We’ve come to rebuild!!!

Congratulations!! Congratulations!! Congratulations!!

The former president, who passed away at age 100, appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show and Super Soul Sunday.

Jimmy Carter’s passing marks the end of an era, but his legacy of selfless service to humanity will live on. As the 39th president of the United States, Carter’s commitment to public service was evident, but it was his work after leaving office that truly showcased his character. His tireless efforts was Habitat for Humanity, an organization he worked with over 35 years, helped provide affordable housing to countless individuals and families in need.

Carter’s hand-on approach to others was inspiring, and his annual participation in Habitat for Humanity’s Jimmy and Rosalyn Carter Work Project brought attention to the organization’s mission. Since 1984, the project has mobilized over 106,000 volunteers to build or improve more than 4,400 homes in 14 countries. Carter’s dedication to affordable housing and community development has had a lasting impact on communities worldwide.

The outpouring of tributes and condolences following Carter’s passing is a testament to the respect and admiration people have for his life’s work. As we reflect on his legacy, we’re reminded that even small acts of kindness and service can have a profound impact on individuals and communities.
Jimmy Carter’s commitment to humanity will continue to inspire generations to come and his memory will be a blessing to all those who knew him.

The Carter Center has indeed done remarkable work in Liberia, particularly in the areas of peace building, democracy and health.

Founded by former US president Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalyn, the Carter Center has been actively engaged in Liberia since 1991, focusing on:

1. Electoral reform and democratization:
The Carter Center has provided technical assistance and observer missions to support free and fair elections in Liberia.
2. Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding:
The organization has facilitated dialogue and reconciliation efforts among Liberian stakeholders, contributing to the country’s transition from civil war to peace.
3. The Traditional Women Peace building education through Entrepreneurship Development Program that was executed by the Liberia Returnee Network back in 2016.

May the gentle soul of one of earth’s faithful departed heroes rest on in eternal bliss!!

Human Rights Day(HRD)is celebrated annually around the world on the 10th of December. The day is usually observed by the UN members and celebrated worldwide. HRD began in 1948, which is 76 years ago.
This date was chosen to honor the United Nations General Assembly’s adoption and proclamation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR).

This year’s theme: Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now, is a call to acknowledge the importance and relevance of human rights in our everyday lives. As UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has said “Human Rights are the FOUNDATION for PEACEFUL, JUST, and INCLUSIVE societies”, LRN stands FIRMLY with ALL refugees around the globe in the endurance of their DREADFUL PLIGHTS and calls on the international refugee-governing bodies to come to the aid of the refugees with workable -realistic strategies to discontinue the unbearable futile sufferings inflicted upon them which is an infringement of their existence; bearing in mind that refugees are Humans with Rights which MUST be Protected with Dignity in accordance with the 1951 Geneva Convention.

“For to be free is not just merely to cast off one’s chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others” Nelson Mandela

History tells us that in 1992, on November 19, Thomas Oaster from Malta, initiated the idea of celebrating men globally; Jerome Teelucksingh saw the relevance and propounded the idea in 1999 and after 32 years today, International Men’s Day still holds its significance with its chosen liturgical color, Blue.
International Men’s Day, also known as International Civil Awareness Day, is being observed today under the theme: “Positive Male Role Models” which highlights the importance of fostering open conversations about men’s “mental health” and creating supportive environments where men can thrive.

Each year, the chosen theme emphasizes the six significant pillars of international men’s day, which are:

🏆To promote male role models
🏆To celebrate the contributions that men make
🏆To focus on men’s health and wellbeing
🏆To highlight discrimination against men-the inequalities that men and boys face
🏆To improve gender relations and promote gender equality and
🏆To create a safer world for everyone.

In light of the above, LRN wishes to acknowledge and celebrate all of her Male partners, well wishers, executive director/founder and Staffers for their tenacious efforts-role play in promoting peace and tranquility, thereby fostering the continuity of human existence globally.

Shalom✌️🌺💐🌷🍄☘️🎍🌴🌴🌼🌲🎄🌿
