29/01/2026
Earlier today, January 29, 2026, the Liberia National Tourism Authority (LNTA) released a statement placing a temporary pause on all pageant activities across the country until further notice. The Miss Inter-University Liberia (MIUL) Pageant Team acknowledges and respects this decision by the LNTA.
We want to reassure the public that MIUL fully supports regulation, compliance, and proper oversight in pageantry. As a pageant centered on intellect, leadership, and national development, we understand the importance of working within established guidelines to meet both national and international standards. We remain committed to cooperating with the LNTA and complying with all directives governing pageant-related activities in Liberia.
It is also important to note that even before the LNTA’s statement was released, MIUL had already taken proactive steps toward collaboration by inviting the LNTA to our upcoming press briefing and initiating an introductory meeting with the Authority. This reflects our transparent, responsible, and law-abiding approach to pageantry.
We kindly encourage our partners, sponsors, supporters, and contestants not to panic. In line with the LNTA’s directive, we have temporarily paused our activities and will continue constructive engagement with the Authority to ensure a positive and orderly outcome.
